Merc used Botas to take out the competition in the first corner, every time that an opponent came close in the standings...
from personal memory I cant think of any examples to back you up.
so give us some examples of where it happened.

because my memory of Bottas is that he was always 2 tenths off Lewis's pace and all around not a great rear gunner especially compared to Perez in 2021. but I am willing to accept that I have recency bias and could be wrong so show me where.

One time where Bottas played wrecking cars, and that was a genuine accident.

Same corner, more movement under braking, no crashes no penalties. First Hamilton almost push him of the road, then Vettel push Hamilton off. Same as with Sainz/Verstappen.
Its just Lando that ran out of talent running against the big boys.

I don't understand these marketing arguments. Ok a very small team maybe.
Lets take RB and Perez.
Redbull sponsors all sports all over the world, why do anyone think they need Perez to help their budget?
Secondly they have Verstappen. What more do you need for marketing and sponsors?

So apparently he has really big sponsors like Disney, Mobil, Nescafe to name a few. Those sponsors obviously bring in money to the Red Bull F1 team which is separate from any other Red Bull sports or companies.

It is just a rumour on some racing sites but it makes a helluva lot of sense as to why he is still around. RB has a rep for dropping under performers quickly. He should have been gone end of last year already

My point is Red bull have lot of money, if allowed(budget cap) they will spend 100's of millions more on the team. So why would they care if a driver is not good but he brings in money?

Let's see how quick they drop him when they lose the Constructors Championship to McLaren but win the Driver's Championship...
