DotD is an interesting one this race for me. We could well have seen Piastri in the mix for DotD had he not suffered that ridiculous call not to stack by Mclaren early in the race. I was rather amped for a Piastri//Verstappen contest there, to see how the rookie faces up to that sort of challenge etc but alas Mclaren just blew it.
As for the win, not entirely sure Mclaren bottled a race win in that final round of stops so much as a 2nd place finish. With final stops that late in the race, the Merc was always going to outperform the Mclaren on those softs in those temps, like it has managed a few times this season already and Silverstone not the toughest for overtaking as we've seen, but Lando pitting a lap earlier and for mediums instead as he should've would've certainly made it more difficult for Lewis, but not sure would've sealed the win, but would've kept Lando's 2nd for sure. That Mclaren has just been rubbish a few times already on softs, and it certainly looked it again now, mindblowing Lando asked for softs, just mindblowing.
