I can only guess they reckon he could've let the dive bomber past because he would've gone too deep and the Hamilton would've gone past him on the inside and thus avoided a collision (Verstappen said something to that effect I think).

Hamilton did state he saw Verstappen coming and then there was the Norris incident last time around where Verstappen didn't hit the the McLaren dive bomber doing the same thing.

Who knows - it's a non consequential event in the race and Verstappen lost championship points of it. Hamilton reckons it's a racing incident, so do the stewards and Verstappen and Marko are blaming Red Bull,

My view is at least his dive bombing isn’t paying dividends anymore. He’s less likely to do it.

Those team orders speak volumes about what McLaren thinks Lando's chances are of winning/contending for the drivers championship.

He's second in the championship and was ordered to give away 7 points. He is far behind but it's only July - never say never. Imagine he ends up losing with 5 points?

Uhm Perez was signed as a second driver for RB, Max is the star/team. Perez did not come into the team as some great new hype or possible future champ.
Piastri is branded as a future champion. Mclaren "stole" him from Alpine at all costs. You think there would be anything in his contract that says he is second driver? He is not allowed to race for win?
Two totally different team setups. Max is the team at RB. Piastri and Norris are both the team at Mclaren.

Disagree. McLaren wanted to maintain the 1-2 and thought the undercut would work better for Lando and didn’t anticipate how well it worked/track position/traffic. Oscar would’ve benefited and been as far ahead if he was given 1st option.
 
Can't believe Max just went for a divebomb like that, it's like he's learnt nothing in all his time in F1. Very amateurish stuff from the 2-time champion.
 
Pretty remarkable how red bull have dropped off. Going to be an interesting last few races. The mclaren boys may regret their principles today.

Also think the freedom max had to do sim racing ended today

Still lots to play for with 11 races left. Isn’t the sim racing thing an Red Bull partnership deal too?

Huh? They had the 1-2, the driver second in the driver championship was first and was ordered to give up 7 points.

I have a feeling that the last few races will be very interesting indeed as Max heads further into the midfield

Yes Redline seems to be heavily sponsored by RedBull, but I guess that will change if he ends up at Mercedes or whatever.

I was disagreeing with your first sentence and his position was only a result of the team not giving that option to Oscar.

He really struggled to overtake even with DRS. Now if Ferrari could generate a bit more performance we could have some great racing up and down the front runners.

Previous lap he wasn't using DRS though, he came in a lot hotter on the collision lap
