After this performance, I doubt Mercedes want Max. If anything, Max is driving a wedge between himself and the team. He's a one man demolition derby in the motivation department. His whole team is just crap. He's the only one who tried this weekend - and he did it all with about 3 hours sleep! What a man!

I don't agree that Merc does not want Max. If anything this probably will get Toto to push it more seeing how frustrated Max is.

It does not matter how tense and hectic he can get, in this sport, if you don't have that, you most likely won't be a multiple times champ.

Look at Senna, Schumi, Vettel and even LH a few years ago against Rosberg etc. They demand perfection and want to win no matter what.

Lando, imo, should have stuck it to Mclaren this weekend. That championship dog should have come out.. but he bent over and took it.

I shudder to think of the fallout/recriminations if, at the end of the season, Lando has missed out on the championship by 7 points
Agree, which is why the team should have either pitted Piastri first or told him to get a move on or concede the place at the end.
Then Lando could have blamed himself for the poor start.

what about landos comments in the cool down room with lewis

lando also coming out of his shell a little

Yeah, you could see the frustration creep in and then sommer take it out on Lewis.

But, this is the big leagues. As full of shyte Max can be, at least he knows where to cut it off and move on. Lando still needs to learn otherwise he is going to get a real douchebag rep very quickly. I wonder what Lewis was thinking afterwards when Lando got all defensive.

As Coulthard said during the commentary, Lando should have put the Schumacher chop on Piastri before they got to the first corner.

Lando could have also given Oscar the place back as soon as he was asked to and could have most likely repassed Oscar on track as he open around 8 seconds on Oscar in the last stint

I can't wait for the team in fighting next year to see who has the biggest tottie

Lewis and Charles
Lando and Oscar
Sainz and Hulk/Albon/Gasly
Max and Russel??? (I am hoping this happens)

I agree. There is no doubt that Toto wants Max at Merc.

I wouldn't have, given the stage of the race. Lando would then have spent the remainder of the race behind Oscar and Oscar would have spent the remainder of the race defending. Both of them would have been slower as a result. Overtaking was never going to be easy in similar cars. 8 seconds in the last stint is hardly anything, Max was pulling 1-2 seconds per lap on Lewis in that final stint and we all know what happened there.
