Wow, so the poor oke crashes in his first session and the armchair critics (who clearly know better) have already branded him overrated and not good enough. SMH...

Super talented fellow, but he found the limit of the Merc's cornering ability :X3:
 
Sainz just had the exact same snap in the same spot as Antonelli. I think there's something up with the surface in that corner. Sainz, with his experience, was able to save it.

Hard lines for Antonelli and a lot of $$ expense for Merc - I wonder if they will get the car fixed for George in time for FP2?
 
I am excited fro Kimi in F1, but becasue he skipped F3 I do feel like he needs another year in F2 before he jumps to F1.
if Premma was on top of their game this year and they were actually competing and we could really see what he is capable of (same with Bearman) then maybe there would be merit.

he is going to end up getting some nickname related to crashing like crashstapen or nick Debris or nikita MoerseSpin. and all of those were with merit, only Max shook off the nickname when he stopped torpedoing drivers by you know what never mind that still happens more often than it should....

so lets get working on the crash related nickname for Antionelli so long....
I feel like he is going to be confirmed as the LH replacement officially this weekend

If he does get confirmed for a 2025 F1 seat this weekend, then I would give him a nickname which reflects how the worst job interview turned into one of the best job appointments ever!

(I am just going to assume everyone has heard that Joke that Toto told both George and Kimi at some point in their junior careers)
 
I think Kimi has signed with Merc already. Thats why they waited to announce this weekend. They thought he might do some great laps in FP1 and then the announcement.
Now its going to give us great memes for weeks.

to be fair Max also crashed a lot in his earlier years - look how he has grown - i DO feel there is a lot of pressure and expectation on Kimi - maybe unfairly considering that he is halfway through his first (and only?) F2 season and not really lighting that championship up
 
Really unfortunate accident for Antonelli, but these things happen. He was very fast, but a little over confident and it cost him. That's pretty much what you expect from a rookie though, so this shouldn't affect him in any way.

Yeah, its standard fare for a rookiee, especially a rookiee who wants to make a good impression.

He did make a good impression. In the barrier.
