Oh no doubt there will be plenty armchair critics to knock him down a peg. Same for anyone who’s had a lot of attention.

Yeah, and if there is a chance for the next generation of "biggest best driver of all time" then he's probably got the best chance (both skill and stepping into a Merc from the start).

But I cannot stand the on screen hype. Just tone it down until the wonder kid wins a race.

It's in overdrive for sure. I just consider it part of the entertainment side of F1 these days. If he does well I'll be happy for him - he's got a lot to live up to.
 
5 races ago I would've said this starting grid is going to result for an exciting race, but this is basically the podium.

Those Red Bulls are garbage right now.

Clearly Mclaren is hiding a smidgen of pace during practice sessions. Nice front row. Lando needs a good start.
