McLaren's front tyre deg was as a result of them racing each other. Not just my opinon. Lewis said the same thing. When has McLaren ever picked a driver over another for the rest of a season? Mclarens front tyre deg was far greater than Ferrari - they were never going to pull off a 1 stop and even Lando acknowledged that. You're arguing over a maximum 2 pt difference.
Blah blah, same result. Lando gets told to pit first then told to hand over the position. That's team orders despite Lando having significantly more points. When it bites them in the bum I wonder what they'll tell sponsors? The whole Hungary thing was a mess but everyone forgets that if Oscar had've demanded first option (being in the lead) Lando pitting later than he did would've likely have had the same affect on Lando as it did on Oscar relegating Lando to a lower position and perhaps jeopardising the teams 1-2. That's why he "needs the team and Oscar". If Oscar is unwilling in the future as a result of not returning the benefit it'd be worse for Lando.
Mclaren has never had a designated #1 driver.Blah blah, same result. Lando gets told to pit first then told to hand over the position. That's team orders despite Lando having significantly more points. When it bites them in the bum I wonder what they'll tell sponsors?
Not even Bruce McLaren?Mclaren has never had a designated #1 driver.
When did they race each other? I though they were racing Leclerc that was in between them?McLaren's front tyre deg was as a result of them racing each other. Not just my opinon. Lewis said the same thing.
We're not talking about a "designated #1 driver" like Ferrari tend to do on occasion. We're talking about team orders for the sake of the DWC or any other reason - like we've just seen in Hungary.Mclaren has never had a designated #1 driver.
HUH. Teams have always gave the driver in the lead the first choice to pit. Mclaren pitted Lando first to cover an undercut behind him and then by that they undercut Piastri for the lead. Thats why they told Lando to give the position back. Because it was unfair, he did nothing the get the position and it was unfair to Piastri who was leading the race. Simple as that. Many teams have done the same in the past.Blah blah, same result. Lando gets told to pit first then told to hand over the position. That's team orders despite Lando having significantly more points. When it bites them in the bum I wonder what they'll tell sponsors?
But you are confidant that Lando cannot win the WDC, so why would Mclaren be different and say we need team orders? We're not talking about a "designated #1 driver" like Ferrari tend to do on occasion. Every team has a #1 driver at some point if a championship is involved.
You asked what they tell sponsors. That’s it. In hungary lando was gifted his undercut thats why it was reversed. If lando didn’t give it back it would be the end of anything of similar nature in the future. They’ll race and frankly I’d be disappointed if team orders became a thing where it wasn’t a guaranteed win for either driver and not some hypothetical possibility. We're not talking about a "designated #1 driver" like Ferrari tend to do on occasion. Well he didn’t have a team mate early on and Hulme did score more points in his first year so even Bruce. Not even Bruce McLaren?
No, The newly formed McLaren team entered with Timmy Mayer and Bruce McLaren as driversNot even Bruce McLaren?
The guys who watch on F1TV never complain about the commentary team because there's literally nothing to complain about. It's all neutral, knowledgeable stuff. I mean, Alex Jacques, Jolyon Palmer and David Coulthard is already amazing, add in Will Buxton, Sam Collins and Alex Brundle and it's perfect. Although that trackside Italian fella was a bit weird this last race , but they used him sparingly at leastInitially when I got F1TV, also started out watching the Sky Sport stream. Then eventually got annoyed by the BritBias and switched to F1TV stream. After 2 weeks I really enjoyed and now I just don't see myself watching the Sky stream ever again.
Not even between Senna and Prost, my guyNot even Bruce McLaren?
My complaint with F1TV is literally the commentary. I switch to the international stream because I prefer Brundle and co… and when you switch, if you’re casting you have to switch before you cast and you have to be prepared for it to go live rather than from the start of you happen to be watching delayed. It’s been buggy from the start. The guys who watch on F1TV never complain about the commentary team because there's literally nothing to complain about. It's all neutral, knowledgeable stuff. You’re suggesting someone would make a #1 and 2 out of those? Not even between Senna and Prost, my guy
That Reddit thread is ironic. Most votes goes to Sky F1 presenters, but then literally the top most upvoted comments are all about the good of F1TV presenters and the issues with Crofty etc.My complaint with F1TV is literally the commentary.
