Say what you want about Toto and Hornier, but Andrea Stella is another level of moan gat.

I've seen Max in the past with a huge lead like that pit (and even not pit) to secure the fastest lap at the end of a race.

You either know how to win championships or you don't, for example, swapping your leading driver with the other to deny him an extra 7 points because of "fairness" is probably not how you do it. But please, bitch and moan about 1 point...
 
As for swearing - Europeans don't seem to be so ****ing hung up about it as Americans, Australians and apparently South Africans.

Delay the live feed by 5 seconds and bleep out the ****ing swearing and move on. Hardly a new concept.

The trouble with this swearing issue is it just highlights how these are celebrities first and sports people / brand ambassadors second.

Imagine going into a press conference representing your company and various brands and whining about not being able to swear like that. It’s not as through it was a candid moment.

Nah, f1 drivers are primadonnas and think they’re so special, they have a different set of rules to the rest of us.
 
there is always a lot of people who leave when the team is at the top.
the people who make the car the best want to be known to do it.
any driver wants to be the driver that takes the car from the midfield to the top of the standings.
same goes for the technical people. taking a Hass from a back marker to fighting for podiums based on your changes is more impressive than taking an already dominant Merc, Ferrari or Red Bull and keeping it dominant.

Yeah, I really do think he has one foot out the door. Either he retires in 2026 or he joins Merc/Aston.
 
The Red Bull situation reminds me of Ferrari circa 2006.

Internal power struggle between Todt and di Montezemolo over drivers (Todt wanted to retain Michael, di Montezemolo wanted Raikkonen). di Montezemolo won, Michael retired, Brawn went on ''sabbatical'' (it was widely accepted that he stepped back out of allegiance to Todt), Byrne retired (only to be wooed back as a consultant) and well, Ferrari haven't been the same since.

Red Bull have been embroiled in a power struggle between Marko and Horner and have now begun to lose key technical people, no doubt as a consequence of the infighting, and now they may even lose their star driver in the future.

other than the fact that they won the 2007 drivers and constructors championships.


I understand what you mean, and I can see how RedBull is heading in the same direction.

but the problem is bigger than just the internal power struggle between the racist and Horner.
they did not listen to Checo when he highlighted problems, and that has now compounded to the point where they are no longer the fastest car.

if the inner turmoil in the team was as big of a problem as it was with Ferrari in 2006 then we would see that in the pit stops, the times would drop down and there would be more mistakes. while the team is functioning well as a unit in pressure situations, we can say that the internal conflict in the team is not yet affecting the team morale. if that will still be true in 6 races time we will have to wait and see

I'm of the opinion that Red Bull is going through the same churn Merc went through and the power struggle is just noise. Those credited with performance improvements are always targeted and they'll do what's best for them in the long run and it's up to the team to retain them or not.
