People still trying to defend Max after Mexico and all the reports regarding the driver/fia meeting, as racing fans first and foremost (hopefully) , surely its time to acknowledge the reality if the situation?

He doesn't, but Leclerc has the head-to-head over him at Ferrari. If he cannot best Leclerc, who is a driver with potential WDC ability, he won't be considered a team leader by any other team that can push for the title.
Red Bull won't take him over Max. McLaren won't take him over either of their drivers. Ferrari have already decided that Leclerc is the better long-term option. Mercedes are in a position where they need to determine if Russell is WDC caliber or Antonelli is a wunderkind.

Points can be manipulated with stuff like team orders.
