So apparently, section d is only applicable and punishable if the car actually enters the pits. As Sainz did not, it is said that's why he only got a track limits violation.
Track limits on the pit entry line is a new one. So if you cross the line by accident when pitting just cross back and

Edit:

He entered the pit lane and then exited would be my argument against simply wondering over the pit lane line remaining on track and it being track limits.

I was definitely surprised to not even see Sainz being investigated for that pit entry pull out.

Someone got a warning in Texas if I recall correctly, for doing something similar - bailing out of the pit entry at the last few metres and then continuing around the final corner.

Yeah well done Maxipad. Very much deserved! On to the next one.

The MB's should now look into reversing everything on that car so that it can be this competitive in warm weather seeing that more than 70% of races are during warm summer periods.

Charles becoming gatvol was awesome. 2025 is going to be fun.

I think Las Vegas was a success, and a decent race at that.

Mercedes did amazingly well to be in 1st and 2nd, particularly Hamilton working his way up from 10th. But what a dream drive from Russell!
Tough luck for Ferrari, but getting 3rd and 4th is still very decent. A pity Charles couldn't grab the lead, but sometimes that is how it goes... I feel like Ferrari needs to work on their communication, they are still having WTF moments.
Max drove well as always. He picked his battles and brought the car home in a decent position. Deserved champion 🏆
Gasly, what terrible luck, he was doing so well until that Renault engine did Renault things💀
McLaren were just about invisible, boring race for them.
Nice to see Hulk and Tsunoda in the points.
Checo scored a point which, believe it or not, was actually a good result for him
Alonso had a good race bringing things home in 11th.
Zhao, despite not finishing in the points, actually had a decent race out there and should be commended.
Colapinto who started in the pits still managed to bring it home in 14th which I feel is still a decent result, all things considered.
Ocon at least brought his car home
Lawson had a bad day but still had some good battles.
Stroll still doing Stroll things 💀
Albon's string of terrible luck continues 💀

I think Colapinto showed his inexperience in the last 2 races, although he has great potential. The reality of difficult race conditions and circuits(Brazil and LV) showed that he is not ready for a main seat, especially next to Max.

I think Merc is also going to find that out next season with Kimi.

I am sad Max took the championship, would have really liked it if there was still some fight left in the last 2 races, even if Max ended up winning.

overall it was a fantastic race. I actually feel this race was a better watch than Brazil was, and I love Brazil it is my favourite track.

happy for George, fantastic drive from Lewis.

well done to Max. first Championship he deserved that was not because of interference, or simply a dominant car. this is a well deserved Championship. credit where it is due.

Colapinto is still learning. He said at the end of the race that he learned a lot with this one. He should be considered for RB not Red Bull, I agree. I'm just glad for the mechanics that he brought the car home 😅
Put Tsunoda in that Red Bull, he's been really pushing of late

I think Merc is also going to find that out next season with Kimi.
Mercedes should expect more than a few Mercs in the barrier next year....

If Hamilton didn't pit then it would have been a penalty its my guess.
Pitlane entries get cut in some races, Brazil most prominent example.

Im not a Max fan but well done on winning the Driver's title. Las Vegas was quite a decent one to watch. Well done Yanks.
Agree on all points, but I think he actually won the championship with that Spectacular Drive in Brazil.
This weekend just made it official.
Lando had already blown his chances several weeks ago and McLaren were running on luck and wishful thinking from then on.

Yeah, McLaren were never really in the hunt given how much of a deficit they had to make up. They are on very good footing for next year though if the status quo remains. If Merc retains the pace they showed at Las Vegas and Ferrari continue their upward trend, 2025 could in theory be the most exciting season over a decade.

McLaren or Lando in the hunt?

McLaren is leading the WCC (which I wouldn't put it past them to stuff up either).

But they did mess up with strategy and team orders, and Lando himself is also to blame. There was never really any threat to Max, he's been in this game longer and knew what it took to win the WDC...

Max is aggressive, Lando not so much , if ever, he is just nice. I think 2025 he needs to show us he is ready and that means be intimidating at times.. we will see.

Lando is a whining wuss, he never stood a real chance anyway. He is too weak. Even with the fastest car on the grid he could barely take a win without messing up.

He literally said he is not on max's level, and needed time to improve.

He will never be a world champion. Oscar will be the nr1

That's the sort of attitude that gets shaped over time. I think Lando will fare better next year as he will start the year knowing he can win the championship with the right attitude. But so will Oscar. And George. And Max. And nobody is quite sure what Kimi will be capable of in that 2025 Merc. Not to mention Lewis and Charles in the Ferraris.

2025 will be wild, maybe even Sainz in the Williams will be in the hunt for podiums the rate they are going.
