Well that puts the FIA's problems squarely at Ben Sulayem's feet. They need to ditch him.

Valtteri Bottas has revealed he turned down an offer to drive in IndyCar full-time next season but insisted he is open to tackling the Indianapolis 500 - though his primary focus remains on Formula 1.
The 35-year-old will leave Sauber at the end of 2024 and is expected to replace Mick Schumacher as reserve driver for his former squad Mercedes.

Tim Mayer has spoken out with a series of claims against the FIA president Mohammed Ben Sulayem over his running of the governing body​


He said: "For a federation that relies on volunteers to fire by text somebody who has made a significant contribution does not speak well of the management of the federation."

Speaking about the reason for his dismissal, Mayer believes it was because Ben Sulayem "took offence" following an appeal by the Circuit of the Americas (COTA) chiefs following a track invasion by fans.

FIA are meant to sanction F1, not micro manage it, again I question the motives here.
He is overstepping the mark and trying to exert undue control over the sport.
FoM are suspiciously silent, so I suspect a mutually beneficial financial aspect is behind this.

The sport has been marred with scandal ever since he took office.

Ben Sulayem will go on record in the next few days to say the Russell's Super Licence has been withdrawn and the next driver to swear will face the same penalty.

They’ll have to go the Saudi embassy in Turkey to apply for it to be returned.
 
Actually I’d say we’re headed down a team breakaway path soon.
