F1 2026

A major blow for Red Bull, which is once again set to lose a key figure, with Gianpiero Lambiase having signed a multi-million-pound contract with McLaren.

I don't think anything changes for him, if the car is shyte, he will go whether mid-season or end of the year. This might just make it easier to decide seeing his entire team leave left right and centre.

Sure but RB may send them on their way with or without gardening leave.

They would 100% especially if Max is not there in 2027. It would not make sense to have GP there for one season with a new driver

He'd be an idiot to leave without a seat elsewhere - from a negotiation perspective, it would be a tactical failure unless he plans to exit F1 entirely. I see him sticking around at least till end of season while making a helluva lot of noise signaling his displeasure to drum up options which at his salary level are limited.

I honestly believe he is exactly how he comes across as. Many close to him have confirmed this in interviews.

He is there to race for wins and have fun doing so. If both are taken away and you are filthy rich... what is the motivating factor?

It's still F1. If he is as you say, why would 4 or 5 more races make much of a difference?

Red Bull is dying. This seems to be a classic business case where the first/starter generation moves on and the business begins to fall apart with the second generation unable to keep the momentum.

Considering Max does not like this generation of 50-50 PU, I think it is more likely that he leaves F1 instead of changing teams and I do not see him seeing out his contract to 2028.

Probably won't, it just depends on where the oke's mind is at. It is that scale effect.. weighing up the options.
Does he hate doing the whole flying across the world, media obligations, 3 days of driving a car he does not enjoy at all in regulations he hates, enough to say" I'm out"

They just invested so much money into their own PU factory, I don't think it they will go away quickly. But to lose that many engineers and staff over the last 2 years is definitely hurting them atm. Losing Max will be the nail in coffin imo for them being a top team and they will have to rebuild for a few years most likely.

I agree, I'd also add that I think it might be driven by the fact that they have too many people reaching their career ceilings simultaneously and they have very small windows to capitalize on it. I'm surprised Hannah hasn't moved on too.

Disagree here. Max isn't leaving F1. He may threaten to but I'd be quite surprised if he did follow through. His time with RB - not so sure.

Fck still no F1, hopefully when it does come back the cars will have caught up to the rockets ships
