F1 2026

its boring already

2 races in

season might be over very soon

Too early to call, but we'll see. Better than Max running away with the title on his own, at least now there's 2 teams on top, both with very good drivers.

well yeah max running away was also boring

ferrari is only there for the 1st few laps ...1st corner and 1st few laps

they launch is so good ...like a video game though

good to see charles and lewis going all out but could have costed them dearly

The Merc race advantage is the ratio thing that kicks in after a couple laps, or at least its been the theory and more power naturally would mean better options for battery use.

Will be patient until the rule tweaks arrive later in season to judge.

I do think the struggling teams are potentially scapegoating the batteries tbh, and actually haven't managed to maximize their engines yet, may have got some things wrong... well, not as wrong as Honda.... but not yet figured it all out yet. Just look at the Merc customers, they have the same engines, but not remotely the same performance, there like with the introduction of 2014 engines and then the ground effect, not everyone gets it right at first and have to play catchup, just rather easy to blame the battery.

Going to be interesting to follow the season as things develop.

There's lots is truth to this, but what's also true is that the nature of the driving is fundamentally different. It's not a case of going as fast as you can without going off the track anymore, it's about going as fast as the battery will allow you to go. Even LeClerc, who is in one of the top cars, said it has taken the skill differential out of the driving.

Leclerc did feel that way before the season started though. He has since been singing a bit of different tune, live, over race radio during the race even, having alot of fun, even claiming to have had so much fun, he's not even upset about finishing 4th instead of 3rd.

Drivers had to adjust in 2014. Driver had to adjust in ground effect. They were claiming the same things each time back then. No skill, all about who has most power, no skill, all about who has best downforce/solved porposing and and and....

You can't say the display in China, Leclerc vs Hamilton was not intense and a great display of driver skill and understanding.

This was yesterday

“I’m a little disappointed because it was definitely one of my strengths. The truth is that I don’t really like qualifying anymore.”

The battle between the Ferrari's was fun to watch, and their not crashing was great skill, but it wasn't the traditional skill of who can drive fastest

Well, who says you wrong, he's not in a Minardi🤣

Ah, Lando didn't beat Max with reg changes, he beat Max in the same regs? Newey leaving RB isn't a reg change haha.
same as MAx beating Lewis before the reg change.

only Lando did it on his own. his biggest competion was from his team mate and that battle lead to Max being able to get close

suddenly we have a new set of regulations that are rear heavy and not at all pointy but rather slide at the back because of the way the harvesting works almost locking the rear up before a corner and Max fails, while Hajar is at least surving.
Wait what?
And here I thought a pointy car slides at the back/oversteer.

We have established long ago that most people on the forum know nothing about racing. They just here for the fashion, politics and drama.
Now the same fools want to tell us the expert drivers know nothing and its still about skills.
Just because people have different opinions to you, does not mean they are fools.

The Mclarens have the same engine tech that Merc's do though... Skill/knowledge issue. Like RB had knowledge advantage during prior reg's, Mercs know engines it seems....

Ferrari have been a real surprise package imho so far. Did not expect them to be competitive as they have.

I wonder if we'll see Merc's drop off the pace like we did Ferrari's that one season with the behind the scenes battles about engine rules.
