F1 2026

No because under these fictitious rules there's no benefit to charging the battery early, you'll lose time and potentially track position by braking early. Whether you charge the battery fully by turn 4 by braking earlier in prior corners or by turn 11 makes no difference since the battery is only allowed used fully on the main straight after the final turn for instance.

The whole reason super clipping exists is to charge the battery because deployment at the next straight is more beneficial that maintaining speed at the end of the straight .

If you let drivers deploy, you will end up with the same situation - someone deploys their battery on the main straight so they superclip on the back straight, but another driver is deploying on the back straight because he'll rather superclip at the end of the main straight because his tyres are better and he can make up time in the corners after superclipping, etc and you end up with the performance difference of F1 to F2.
fkn "super clipping".
Rather call it "battery-charging originated retardation"

South African teen Emma-Rose Dowling set for F1 opportunity

A 15-year-old racing driver from Benoni is set to take a major step toward Formula 1 after being selected for the F1 Academy programme.

Emma-Rose Dowling will compete in the female driver development series across Britain this year, a move that puts the South African teenager firmly on the radar of motorsport fans.

The Grade nine pupil at St Dunstan’s College began kart racing about five years ago and has steadily progressed through the ranks.

The other manufacturers signed on for this as well, though. They were all consulted.

Audi, Ford, GM/Cadillac and Honda are only really in F1 because of the new regs.
Unfortunately FOM/FIA are at the mercy of engine manufacturers, and in this current political climate, no manufacturer would have stood a chance in PR while opposing a more hybridised formula.

Man the F1 world is gonna be turned upside down when Russell complains about these cars...

🙃

He continued: "At the safety car restart I hit what's called a harvest limit, so I couldn't recharge my battery.

"I think a number of teams have had this problem on race starts. So I just got flew by from Lewis.

"And then obviously another battery issue with Charles, when he just flew by me and I was stood still.

"big news for Ferrari.

Ferrari has received FIA approval for their 2026 power unit upgrade under ADUO rules!

The new engine (closing the ~2% / ~25hp gap to Mercedes) is cleared to run from the Canadian GP onwards. The upgrade will be on the thermal side of the PU.

They might introduce it then or wait for the Barcelona. This will put a pressure on McLaren first. Waiting to see the news on Redbull.

Note 2-4% deficiency will allow for 1 upgrade in 2026 and 1 in 2027. More than4%, it will be 2 upgrades in 2026 and 2 in 2027.
Big step for Maranello! 🔥 #F1 #Ferrari #ADUO"
