Not the most exciting race. The kid deserved the win though. The FIA describing a racing incident and then giving a 5s penalty continues to show what a joke the FIA has become. McLaren, pffft.
 
So once again PU/Battery issues for Russell after he spent the whole of Saturday complaining about power issues. At least Toto has stopped gaslighting him and acknowledged that it was a technical fault.

I stand corrected on my previous comment. He publicly threw they guy under the bus. Very clear technical issue but you still blame the driver.

Hamilton penalty for unsafe pit release in Belgian Grand Prix confirmed​


Ferrari have been fined following an incident during the Belgian Grand Prix, where Lewis Hamilton knocked down a mechanic as he was unsafely released from his pit box.

On Lap 20 of Sunday's race the Ferrari driver – carrying a five-second penalty at the time following his first-lap contact with Mercedes' George Russell – pitted under the Virtual Safety Car that had been deployed.

Having waited five seconds to serve his penalty, all four tyres were subsequently changed on Hamilton's car. However, a mechanic operating a front wing tool moved forward into the path of the car's front-right tyre as Hamilton was released from his stop.

Hamilton penalty for unsafe pit release confirmed

I do not understand how LH got a penalty for the Lap 1 incident.

there was space for George.
He hit the brakes already when George was next to him. so if he moved it would have been moving under breaking and that is penalty as well.

and then the Piastry and LeClerc incident to me should have been a penalty for Charles. he did not leave space, and Oscar was next to him Before he hit the brakes so he could have moved

I do not understand the logic on those two incidents at all.
 
This biggest problems F1 is fans that does not understand the rules and fans/commentators that is so bias it hampers their logic,

Lets start with Hamilton penalty.
You cannot like the commentators blame losing downforce because you close to the car in front for your car sliding into an opponent on your outside. That is your problem. You loose grip, slide and hit someone, penalty. Easy as that. None of all these bias BS facts they all want to make up now.

The Leclerc non penalty.
The same situation was discussed/complained about in the past with Verstappen. The Stewards of all sorts of telemetry available to them. They can see if a driver turned his wheel to close the gap.
If A driver's car is angled towards the corner as he is approaching it from the straight and the gap closes without the driver turning his steering. Then you can't penalise him as it was not on purpose.

It's a racing incident: George Russell, Toto Wolff, Jolyon Palmer, Lewis Hamilton, Fred Vasseur and thats from 60 seconds of googling.

Wait... Not on purpose? I thought that's not the other drivers problem? At least make consistent arguments... The FIA's ruling has more to do with the front-axle not being ahead.

Firstly I said many times, giving evidence/opinions from Brits defending fellow Brits is laughable. And a drivers team boss too.

Following a racing line and the gap closes is not the same as sliding into an opponent because you to fast or losing downforce.

Russell even said if it wasn't for the battery issue that cost him a ton of speed, he would not have been in that position.
