Not at all mrnutz, they can design the car any way, engines are different, it just means ferrari and the like cannot have more people and spend more developing than other teams which is good.

Sure... to help all the smaller teams to get somewhere...no problem..but imho they are changing the rules (and some of them silly!) of the "game" way too often.

Set the rules , stick to it for 5 years.

I thought F1 was supposed to be the TOPNOTCH of excellence...best of the best....not A1,not GP2 , not any of the lower formula racing classes.

how often do you see motogp changing it's rules :)

Ferrari are no longer a top team. They are a manufacturer.

The 40mil pound cap does not include drivers salaries or marketing. The 40mil cap is simply for the development of the car as well as the salaries of their work force.

The cap is needed so that all the teams are on a level playing field. If the cap was introduced a year earlier, Honda would be leading the championship, and not BrawnGP (as Brawn are running Honda's car).

Brawn aren't even using a Honda engine! How can you claim its the same car?

So yes, if Honda had dumped their Honda engine, bought a Mercedes engine or a Ferrari engine then maybe. Of course then it wouldn't be Honda, now would it?

Honda and brawn are not the same thing for sure, honda was honda and brawn is brawn :p, all brawn did was buy the base of the team, the car is something totally different.
