I hope they bring full power units, the bits are what they take home afterwords.

The've BEEN bringing bits for the PU but we don't even know if it's powerful because the team has to run it at low power levels for the sake of reliability. Might as well run it at full power because they certainly can't do worse in terms of reliability.

Anyone know how much it would cost Mclaren to break contract?
 
Would be nice to see the two Finns tango more through the rest of the season.

Very well deserved win for Bothas.

Mclaren needs to put a gun to Honda's head with a quick deadline and if they don't produce then pull the trigger.

Lets hope next years regs allow for closer racing. Sochi showed just how bad the current aero setups are with regards to closer racing. Clean air was only to be found around 5secs behind the car in front.

I commented on that yesterday, and agree, the current cars are even worse at following, probably the worst it's ever been.
 
As the Honda tends to fail silently, Mclaren need to install a fireworks button.
Then Rather than quietly pulling of the the side of the track, and getting out, the driver can hit the Fireworks button and simulate a spectacular engine failure.

That would guarantee airtime and TV coverage for the Sponsors and make it worth while entering even if it is only for the warmup lap.

That should be fine with the FIA/FoM as it enhances the show and brings in revenue. ;)

As the Honda tends to break when the accelerator is pushed they could just wire it straight to the accelerator and save on a button :p
 
Was a fun race,now if only all the cars ran like the merc and ferrari.
 
The gap between Merc and Ferrari is closer than ever but it's shockingly huge between Red Bull and the rest of the field. Seems like the cars can't follow each other closely with the new designs or they are just too quick through the corners to close the gap.

I Blame the new wings for that, as brought up previously, why the teams had over heating problems.
/FFS Indy dropped them for a reason

I don't think it's just quickness through the corners, look how much trouble most had (Hamilton the prime example) when getting within about 5 seconds of a car in front.
 
That's too much of an effect to be causing that much distortion in the air from 5 seconds away. I think the engines need more power to counter the new wings.
