F1 - General discussion and 2017

Rumours that the main McL shareholder has been having private meetings with MB management, in Monaco and now in Canada.

Brundle saying if they think they can get out of the contract Honda is getting the sack...

And Zak Brown is on the board of Cotsworth who supplied Mclaren the engine for the last Championship that Senna won.

Great recovery by Vettal considering the day he's been through.

If I were him I would keep walking and not bother returning to the garage. He has lots of friends south of the border now.

And my dislike for Perez continues to grow.

Congrats to Lewis, great recovery from Vettel, hard luck for Alonso (fantastic to see him in the crowd though! :D) and a fantastic drive from Lance Stroll. Could've been so easy for him to get caught up in the hype of his home race but he kept his nose clean and drove a wonderful race.

Yeah, perez was a complete arse. Ocon could have applied more pressure on red Bull with fresher boots on.

I blame Force India for not having that discussion before the race / season. It's not nice to ask drivers to move over for a 'faster' teammate. Faster cars need to overtake IMO - teammates or not. What if you're a fan of the frontrunner? I feel for Kimi fans today. No chance to watch him race Vettel. This needs to be a sport for the spectators.

Let's not suggest we didn't want to watch that move by Vettel on the two Force Indias. That was pretty epic... as was Verstappens move on the opening lap.

Epic race from quali to win for Hamilton. Great start - that made all the difference today.

I see tears and drama if the teams allow a free for all with no rules between their drivers though.

2 points positions colliding and becoming 2 DNFs could cost a team millions...

But they make it back by elevating the sport. This sport needs all the help it can get. Selfishness like that is what kills excitement. Without the fans this sport is nothing.

P.S. and Ricciardo were epic. Ricciardo needs to be on that podium way more often.
