There's plenty talent at F1 that'll never be realised. It's very unfortunate. Not so with a series like Indy.

Especially into a car that probably wouldn't be competitive even in GP2 with the amount of breakdowns it has...

To add to what the other's have already posted, their final misadventure came as an engine supplier for Footwork in 1991.

Porsche 3512

The Porsche 3512 was a motor racing engine designed by Porsche for use in Formula One in the early 1990s.

Porsche had left Formula One at the end of 1987 after four years supplying TAG-badged turbo engines to the McLaren team, but decided to return two years later with a view to creating a V12 engine for the newly introduced 3.5-litre normally-aspirated regulations (hence this engine's designation of 3512). After a partnership with the small Onyx team was suggested, in early 1990 the company signed a four-year deal with Footwork Arrows, to commence in 1991

By this stage, Footwork had already given up hope in the Porsche engine, and had decided to go back to the Ford Cosworth DFR V8 that had been used in 1989 and 1990. However, the team had to make do with the 3512 for the North American rounds in Canada and Mexico

Footwork finally reverted to the DFR in time for the French Grand Prix, installed in a modification of the FA12, designated the FA12C.[6] Porsche formally terminated its deal with the team shortly before the Japanese Grand Prix in October,[7][8] and has not appeared in Formula One since.

The engine was big, unreliable, under-powered and heavy and it required a total redesign of Footwork's chassis for the 1991 season, forcing them to make do with a modified 1990-spec chassis for the early rounds of the season. By the 4th round of the season Footwork were done with it and by the 7th round they were using a 1988-spec Cosworth engine.

Last year the GP2(F2) race was great and the F1 race a bore fest.
This year I will watch Quali and F2 for the entertainment and hope that the F1 race is better.
It could hardly be worse than last years.

A damn good F2 race.

Stupid to only Yellow flag a blocked track but lesson learnt for the marshals.
Turned baku into a parking lot.

It has been a rough week emotionally for LeClerc (his father passed away) but still he was unbeatable.
I would not be surprised to see him promoted to F1 next year, he has shown he has the talent and focus.

Pity it didn't restart.

Panji is working on the daylight savings thing - apparently his plan is to ease you guys into it 3 minutes a day so you don't notice. Seems is plan is a fail.

Ugh, I hope the Ferraris have decent race pace, otherwise it's going to be another procession. Really wasn't expecting that gulf between the Mercs and the rest though.
