Facebook considers panic button

Social networking giant Facebook said Thursday that it was considering whether to add a "panic button" to a section of its British Web site following a tabloid outcry sparked by the kidnap, rape and murder of a teenager by a man she encountered on the popular online meeting place.

Woop te doop, If you're dumb enough to meet random people you meet on KoobFace, you prob deserve to be stabbed, maybe twice, What difference does this make... none

There are unfortunatly many naive people out there with loads of scum sucking parasites waiting to take advantage.
Anything that could help in preventing the scum from taking advantage of the weak should be investigated.

Yes. What a brilliant idea. A big red button which will be randomly pressed by ten thousand people simultaneously.. just for the fun of it. Nothing like a ten man elite police cyber crack unit to deal with thousands of false alarms aroused daily by Britain's screwing around online.

Government elections and populous maneuvers. One has to wonder sometimes

wait, I already heard they denied this. They said they have enough measure in place to already deal with issues.

I think they should ban all of Facebook, Twitter, MySpace, etc. The web would be a better place. Also ban all persons under 18. (Would be good to ban all ugly ppl too - the one's beat with the ugly stick ;) ). Oh yeah and ban all men, except me.

I think they should have a red panic button on this forum. Then I could report the lot of yer.
