Facebook like warning

A German public official who wants to clip the wings of social-networking site Facebook threatened Friday to fine any third-party websites that employ a Facebook “like” button.

I agree with him, remove the like button and most of remove site that require you to register with your FB login.

ginggs like this!

got to agree. FB login is real info.

But lets also forget the fact that we have a choice whether we use like or not.

It starts small with a little like button, we can already buy products of the net with FB logins linked to credit card details, we allowing FB to potentially become the biggest bank in the world.
FB is the biggest danger to society today, those who still think its harmless and people still have choice are little naïve IMO.

Aslong as FB servers are under US control, the world needs to very careful when agreeing to the sites T&Cs.

This guy might have a point, but he is being a complete idiot about it. He might as well try to shut down the whole internet, Malema style. Users have a choice - they can choose to click these like buttons or not. It is up to them to investigate the privacy issues (which are very well known and documented on the web) if they are that paranoid.

Don't use social networking services, if you don't want your social life to be visible online. Simple is that. Always assume that whatever info you put online (like photos, birthdays, the things you "like") will be available to everyone to view. If you can't live with this, than simply don't use it.

Someone should tell the dude that crawled into his dunghole to crawl back out, or Germany's internet will break.
