I withdrew some cash from the Nedbank ATM yesterday around 16:30 only to find out today that some of the cash is fake.. ok, i called the bank but the response wasn't good the person who was assisting me wasn't helpful coz she told me that they dont issue out cash from the ATM.. so i dont know wat to do people

:wtf: Wot ? First thing is go back to the branch closest to the atm you withdrew from. Lodge a complaint. Then phone a proper helpline number and lodge a complaint, get a ticket number. Then tell them you want them to make good on the fake notes. Then pray, I suppose !

Probably cash in transit security officers replaced real notes for fake once.

Yeah right...

Im sure OP would say blank paper and not fake notes but that depends on the OP's intellect.

im sure if you can place paper inbetween notes in an atm, it is also possible to put fake notes there.

there are articles of fake notes coming from atm.

why is it so unbelievable?

Look at the post I was quoting.

Not unbelievable in the least, but there are controls in place to prevent this from happening. Fake currency is usually limited to those garage shop ATMs, the ones that are not refilled by the bank.

Also, these days cash recycling ATMs exist although I'm not sure how many of them are running in ZA, they check that the currency is valid both when it is withdrawn and deposited, so it would be impossible to get issued fake currency from one of those ATMs.
