It's not a CAA requirement, it's a company requirement. If he has a CPL he can fly a airliner legally according to civil aviation regulations.

You apply for a job as a civil engineer building bridges etc the company is gonna say we need a B.Sc (Civil), professional registration with SAICE and we need you to get an M.Sc Eng within time frame X. He meets the legal requirements as a Pr Eng so legally he can do the job and if a bridge he designed collapses things are covered even though they discovered he falsified the M.Sc as that is not a legal requirement to perform the job.

Chandler was the co-pilot not Khumalo. Chandler was educated in pre-1994 era so even if he was standard 2 pass back then, that is equal to a MS from Howard in today's terms. :D

Just as Cr419 was pointing out a certain right-wing member did not do the AA thing, the left wing climbed onto the AA bandwagon. :rolleyes:

Nope and that's basically the crux of the matter, he continuously turned down promotion to captain which should have raised red flags. Had he accepted the position to captain his fraud would have been discovered and he obviously knew that...

I'm not trying to justify his fraud but pointing out that he is legal to fly. I would like to know what sanctions he'll face from the CAA, would the fraud result in him losing his CPL as well....

That article leaves out info and makes things seem way worse than it is.
