WTF is going on here!

Do these people not understand that WE South Africans have CAP problems?

$10 to download it plus a damn 1/2GB account!

ARG!

Later this month, Bethesda Softworks plans to release the first of three planned downloadable expansions to their post-apocalyptic RPG Fallout 3. Today the publisher released some new screenshots from the DLC, Operation Anchorage, showing off more of the mission that your player character experiences in hologram form in the game. A specific release date for the expansion has yet to be revealed by the publisher but PC owners will have to pay $9.99 to download it. In related news, Eurogamer has posted an interview with the lead Producer of Fallout 3's DLC, Jeff Gardiner:

Eurogamer: The 800 Microsoft Points price point is often challenged by gamers - look at the Gears 2 Combustible Map Pack, for instance - and you have some experience with pricing issues. How's the reaction been so far? Are you still comfortable with it?

Jeff Gardiner: We're offering several hours of unique gameplay - along with a bevy of armor and weaponry the player can use throughout the entire main game of Fallout 3. Reaction has been very positive.

Eurogamer: With G.E.C.K. (good name, by the way!) now out and about, will PC gamers be able to take advantage of the Op Anchorage and other DLC assets when they come out?

Jeff Gardiner: Yes, you can use content in the DLC to create new plugins and mods, but anyone who wants to use those plugins/mods will have to have bought the DLC and have it installed.

Yeah, we ZA'fricans always get the short end of the stick.

Hopefully there will be some sort of a workaround with the DL being distributed on CD and some sort of activation required. But I doubt it.

As usually bethesda trying to cash in. I certainly won't pay $10 for this. BioWare gave me the mass effect dlc for free(console gamers had to pay but pc gamers got it free) and cd projekt gave me the enhanced edition for free.

u can always go on the NAG forum and ask them if they could put it on the next month DVD they uncapped and they usually put the new stuff on their DVD's

they won't be able to put it on the disc .... you have to pay for the DLC, it's not free.

Yes I am quite sure Behtesda will allow them to put some thing on their dics that they want people to pay $10 each to get it. Nag won't be allowed to put it on their disc.

Finally Xrapidx is seeing the clearer picture ! now to just donate ur s2k to me :D

It still doesn't have Bluray - so the PS3 stays :p

S2k donation - I'll need to be smoking something REALY REALLY REALLY strong :p

We can hardly blame Bethesda for Telecoms prices in South Africa.

Also, all the Oblivion expansions were released to retail. I'm sure the FO3 expansion will be too.

What has telkom got to do with bethesda charging $10 for dlc when bioware gave their mass effect dlc free for the pc gamers and cd projekt gave all their extra witcher content for free??

Not much. However, I'm not going to get too riled up about a company charging for a major expansion pack.

I think their business models are just different. If Bethesda need to charge for a traditional expansion pack to make a profit and create more games as good as Fallout 3 then I'll support them.

It's only going to be about R200.00. It's nothing to you or I.

Might be nothing to me but I certainly won't be buying it. They can stick with their business model and I will support the companies who give back to us who support them.
