The online Wikipedia-style database contains dedicated pages on 1.74 million athletes in 23 sports including Major League Baseball, the National Basketball Association, the National Hockey League, the National Football League and Major League Soccer.

I may be a little short sighted here, but why not just use wikipedia if it's going to be wikipedia style in any case?
