Far Cry 2 is out

Finished the game this weekend, and what a disappointment.

Endless driving around, very bad AI, same ol same ol...... and nothing remotely like Far Cry 1 which is very replayable.

Popping in to your safe house, then finding a weapons outlet, then killing some dude in town and running away.... bah.

All those yummy guns and you only get to carry 3 at a time. I spent the whole game with a sniper rifle ( which doesn't zoom ). There didn't appear to be a way to change key controls for the hanglider... I could go on.

I also want to find a vehicle which has a head-on smash and can be fixed in 10 seconds by tightening a nut under the bonnet.

Bring on COD 5 !

I coulnt even finish the game....So bored of it.

I dont usually get very excited for games but I couldnt agree with you more. Bring on COD 5. Its that and GTA that make me quiver like a little child on Christmas eve

What can I expect to get from Far Cry 2 (FPS) ?
Also, any suggestions or comments about my system would be great.

Expect silky smooth playabilty...My system is much the same as yours except I have a 8800GT and I am running it maxed out and it is fantastic, so yours should be just fine!...I take my hat off to this engine, it realy is fast!

Your system is still good, All you really need is a new GFX card and you looking good.

Very few sensations better than buying a new graphics card. I love NVIDIA but I'd be stupid to buy a 260 or 280 GTX. I bought Far Cry 2 and Dead Space last week....my girlfriend will understand...I hope.lol

Yeah I am an Nvidia man myself but the new Ati cards just can't be ignored...
 
I am excluding any sensations one can share with a partner. I love games (PC) and everything that goes with it. Only thing better is my gf. By the way she's started to play DOTA...how cool is that. Next we will be LANing Far Cry 2 to decide who gets to wash the dishes lol
 
LoL, I hope you intend to marry her? My gf is into Sims2 or DSTV (you know the sleep before the sleep :D) So I can enjoy my gaming as well...
 
Has anyone LANed Far Cry 2 yet? my friends and I are planning to this weekend. Just would like know how the vast open Africa spaces work for a LAN.

Let me explain how I baught Far Cry 2. I am currently working in JHB Florida and hard-pressed for entertainment given that Im from Cape Town...I walked into Look 'n Listen. As I passed the PC gaming section I saw the Collectors Edition of Far Cry 2 and Dead Space right next to it. What happend next? I took a copy of both spliced with the new NAG and whent straight to the cashier. When buying a good game like Far Cry 2 one doesnt care what the pc specs are...you just buy it and upgrade if you need to, period. There is one thing console gamers will never have and that is the sense of achievement/pride/exclusivity by knowing that only a few can run the high end game you have maxed out. Anyone can fork out R2700 for an XBOX Pro and play any game, but can you say the same about Crysis/Far Cry + Warhead/etc.?

"Dosh"? Seems like new English dialects are developing everyday now. Dude...it never occurred to me that posting these days have some sort of rating scale...my post was a response to a statement, a response the right I have to make. What's the issue?
