Ek het my vuurwapen gereed gemaak.

INTRUDERS shot and killed Terence Rizzoto (63) on his farm, ‘Sonowe’ near Hluhluwe last night.

Preliminary police reports indicate the attack was carried out between 5 and 7pm on Tuesday.

Rizzoto died in the attack, his wife Maureen was assaulted and, according to a local source, their dogs hacked to death.

The number of attackers is unknown at this stage.

The Rizzoto’s vehicle was stolen during the attack but was recovered early this morning.

Crime scene officers from Richards Bay are currently processing the recovered vehicle before moving onto the scene of the crime.

Durban - A reward of R50 000 has been offered for information leading to the arrests of those responsible for the murder of slain Estcourt farmer, Malcolm Stick Green.

The reward has been put up by the Pietermaritzburg Organised Crime Unit.

Green, 69, was shot dead at his home, a smallholding along the R103, in the early hours of January 5.

Police spokesman Colonel Jay Naicker said no arrests had been made, and urged anyone with information to contact Warrant Officer Moses Gasa, on 071 481 3446.

Green, a well-known figure in the Midlands farming community, was shot in the stomach during a confrontation with four men who had forced their way into his farmhouse.

As he lay bleeding to death, his attackers fled with electronic appliances in his bakkie, which was later found abandoned near Ladysmith.

Despite his injuries, Green managed to call his wife, Ruth, who was on holiday at the coast. She alerted the police who rushed to the scene. Paramedics worked on Green for two hours before he died.

According to statistics by the KZN Agricultural Union security desk, 15 murders and 67 attacks took place on KZN farms last year.

“When we called (the police) they were not picking up and eventually they told us they were busy with prisoners,” he said.

Louw said the attackers were known to the family and pictures of them had been sent to the police before the attack was carried out
.

Just the norm, thats how they do their work. BEEEEE speaks for itself.

Police spokesman, Colonel Jay Naicker, said: “These are serious allegations and will be investigated.”

Like hell it will, it's only another farmer that was murdered.

A 62-year-old Hluhluwe farmer was shot dead while his wife and dog were struck with an unknown object to the head, by a group of armed men.

The farmer’s workers were also tied up in Tuesday night’s incident.

They were forced to watch hopelessly as men wielding AK-47 machine guns and pistols raided Mashonisa Farm

Now waiting for someone, the usual, to justify why the farmer were killed and the woman assaulted but the workers were only tied up.

I hope all murderers, rapists and robbers to too. It's a pity most of them don't get any attention from the media.

Trying valiantly to soften the blow of Farmer exterminations in this thread, don't you?

Not at all, just highlight the bias in reporting.

Actually you mean the bias in your head. I have yet to see you lambast these criminals in a farmers killing thread. You always try to make excuses for why the criminals are doing it. You personally so want to let this go away but unfortunately you cant as the media also picked up on the tendency.

I asked someone to explain in a previous post why the farmer and wife was assaulted and murdered but the workers was just tied up? Obviously it cant be explained away can it?

The value of life is based on material possessions for most criminals.

And for the record, I've been posting links to stories regarding rewards offered as well as heavy sentencing only because a lot of you believe this doesn't happen.

EDIT: And please stop just trying to counter what I'm saying with personal opinions.

Just another lame excuse for your own inaction. Most of these cases are not even further investigated. It's just called a botched up robbery with some excuse of assailants not found or identified, maybe because the witnesses are dead.

Personal opinions or facts?

Pretty baseless claims unless you can prove otherwise. Oh but wait, you won't.

Case in point, wily me.

Not even sure what you are trying to say but who cares what you say. Farm murders are on the increase and so will be your defense of the reasons behind it.

Why do you not take up the so called bias with Rudolf. MyBB even have a thread dedicated to farm murders. Thats heavy bias don't you think? They need to rectify this uncalled for bias immediately.
