Much of it is race related, but on farms its really for the guns, money and other valuables. These thugs will even harm the farm workers if they interfere.

So really more a case of - it so happens that the intruders and their victims differ in race. Farms are easy targets as help is not near, nor quick.

Thread can be closed if media stops jumping at relatively silly by comparison incidents and giving months of coverage to student initiation, students painting themselves, racial expletive and coffin case atrocities which fuels hatred. If they have to, instead give coverage to both brutal torture and murder in townships and suburbs as well as farm attacks, owners and workers. Are we all here for a make-believe reality ?

Why would the thread be closed because some troll is playing reverse psychology race baiting? The media cover what they think will get the most readers and they know that covering the same thing over and over leads to reader fatigue and people stop reading. They'll intermittently jump back and forth on the same issue if some new angle they can sensationalize comes up.

I can't see, apart from it being wrong to be driven by sensation based income generation (rather than for national interest), how the above atrocities can be any less sensationalist than hurting peoples' feelings and offense given (and reading about the latter again and again and again).

The CPF in the area work closely with Antiforum and to the best of my knowledge it has.

4 x 9mm and 2 x .45 and one went through so not sure of that caliber.

The fight in me was pre been shot, once I was hit several times I collapsed. Very fortunate been hit so many times and not been killed but I was full of adrenaline fighting for my life in the dark so I was a difficult target. I agree with your sentiments regarding firearms but it is not too difficult to license with the right motivation and legal or not you will have do explaining either way if you pull the trigger as ridiculous as it sounds. Law is not always on the victims side.

Where did the shots hit you ( what part of the body ?
One hears of a person getting ONE shot to the stomach -- and DYING
Strange a .45 -- must have been stolen AND not very popular ( getting ammo )
Unless these perps have some place where they get stocked up with whatever they want !

One CANNOT do any explaining from the inside of a coffin .......

No Stress [MENTION=71274]Pitbull[/MENTION] I got the xrays lol
[MENTION=43898]MidnightWizard[/MENTION] 1 x .45 through the lhs 6" under the armpit through the lung lodged in the back, 1 x .45 through the right arm Humerus broken in 2 places exit in shoulder. 1 x 9mm under rhs armpit, 2 x 9mm in lhs shoulder and 1 x 9mm rhs collar bone/sternum point blank. Basically all defensive wounds. Very lucky imho, 2 x bullets removed and obviously 1 went through possibly 2 as exit wound huge, xrays still show 4 bullets that are too dangerous to remove. Met a guy in hospital, 1 shot and paralysed and many others died from 1 shot so feeling blessed.
Lessons learned, arm oneself and shoot the MF dont care what colour he is, if he enters your home in my experience it is to kill.
For the carefree people in this group wait until it is you or your family dying from this and see if you care if it is reported or not.

I think what I am learning from your experience is that the perps did not have a clear "target" to shoot at -- because not much light , and were at very close range ( not easy to see and choose your aim. )

IF you are on your knees with a gun to your head then there are not many "options"

I am still surprised by how many stories you hear of people attacked with their weapons STILL LOCKED IN THE SAFE !

This happened about 7km's away from me, farmer use to get a lot of fish and chips from me when I still operated a shop in town a few years back.He pretty much kept to him self, modest and down to earth, pretty sad affair to say the least, even worse when it hits so close to home literally.

According to other news sources tied to chairs after which they were shot in the head with a pillow for a silencer...that is pretty brutal.

Bigger government intervention is needed and a special unit of the South African Police Service (SAPS) must be established to investigate farm murders nationally to see if it is organized or not.

This is according to Tommie Esterhuyse, Vice President of Free State Agriculture (FSA), after a senseless double farm murder, which brought the number of farm murders in the Free State to five this year, on 25 June 2018 on an elderly couple from Van Stadensrus.

FSA expresses its sympathy towards the family of Choppie Bruwer (78) and his wife, Marian, (68) who has been murdered and condemn any form of farm attacks and crimes.

Outrage surrounds book claiming top ANC officials ‘killed the boer'

The EFF say AfriForum ‘is mad’ and ‘sick’, while even an expert whose research helped to ‘inform’ the book says he doesn’t agree with all of it. Kill The Boer, a book that politicians have labelled as racial populism, is being launched tomorrow by minority interest group AfriForum. The book, according to its author and the deputy CEO of AfriForum, Ernst Roets, claims politicians and government have been complicit in the proliferation of farm murders, which the organisation believes are racially motivated.

Excerpts obtained by The Citizen from the book’s original manuscript detail shocking accusations, comparing the EFF to an “ethnic cleanser” and relaying an alleged murder plot by the ANC to “scare” white farmers off “their” land. Roets said he could not confirm whether the excerpts were in fact from his book, but in the same breath vowed to find the people who “leaked” the pages and institute legal action against them.

One of the pages relays a conversation between an alleged ANC member and AfriForum.“He then said that the leadership of the ANC was fully aware of the farm attacks and were also involved.” The so-called informant goes on to explain that he received orders from the ANC’s “top six” to murder a specific farmer.
“They did so because they wanted to send a message to white farmers and to scare them off their land.”

Renowned crime expert Johan Burger said that, while he did not endorse the book, he agreed that his research could be used in the book, because he agreed with the sentiment that farm murders were a serious criminal issue. He conceded, however, that certain elements of the book were “less than agreeable” to him.
