Interesting that. It's sad when every serious issue in Sa gets hijacked by idiots trying to further their own selfish goals.

I really wish they would make displaying the old Sa flag in a public space a criminal offence, much like Germany does with nazi flags.

It's obvious the point a person is trying to make by waving the old flag at an event like this and then in the same breath they are complaining about farm murders, stupid doesn't even come close to explaining that behaviour.

The Swastika is banned in Europe, not just Germany. Wolfenstein II posters here in England display the eagle, instead.

Though, our old flag is an interesting topic, because it existed long before apartheid's inception. Banning it would be similar to banning VW, adidas or Hugo Boss because of their association with the Nazis. Thousands of men today wear what is actually the Hitler youth haircut. The list goes on.

It's not an "apartheid flag": it's just coincidentally the colours SA flew at the time.

Agree mostly(with what you say not that you are a boks(in this case)). I guess some kind of event was necessary if only to create hope and a feeling of unity amongst the farmers. That is useful.
Now expecting the government to fix the problem or even more silly expecting the international community to get involved is just stupid.
Now they need to find practical solutions.

One day when you go to the supermarket, and you find veg and meat triple their price and SA starting to look like a Zimbabwe dust bowl, then maybe you might pull your head out of the place where the sun don't shine and ask "What happened to all our farmers?".

It may not have been a happy-clappy event where this useless government actually took note.
What it did do, was to tell the farmers, that our thoughts were with them, and give them those few grains of hope that they are actually appreciated.

You on the other hand simply did fokol but yet you want to claim brownie points that you support them but with No effort involved!

Do you think that the farmers are not acutely aware of such posts?
In the older days, there was the MARNET radio network, the SADF had reaction forces in certain strategic areas, I was part of it in my younger days in the Ellis-ras, Swartwater area during my army camps. This has all being phased out, this excuse of an army nowadays does fokol actively in South Africa to protect our people.
You seriously need to wake up if you think your simple link is going to win the war!

Don't worry, I've read "Plaasbeveiliging deur Maj.W.M.Leonard" from cover to cover and inculcated it. And no, even if they are aware of such posts, they do not take it to heart, especially if they are then "surprised inside my house". It's like these people who are smashed and grabbed, fit that smash and grab tint and stop putting your **** on the seats.

I am very involved with my neighbourhood security and apprehended 3 smash and grabbers and without hesitation went to the assistance of my 70 something yo Scottish neighbour lady when 2 armed robbers pushed their way into her house (luckily she had screamed out), seems they had made a run for it when they heard me coming and had only been in her house 2 min and only got away with a old blackberry and a empty handbag, happened 20:15 on a Sunday evening, and also many other instances of assistance but those would bore you.
