Murders are on the increase, period. They were on a downward incline but it's begun to trend again, more focus needs to be put on the source of these criminals for the benefit of both the rich and poor in these rural areas.
 
Why do you not take up the so called bias with Rudolf. MyBB even have a thread dedicated to farm murders. Thats heavy bias don't you think? They need to rectify this uncalled for bias immediately.

It's topical whereas your garden variety murder is not unfortunately. Like ISIS, load shedding and the blue and black dress.

I wouldn't start a thread labelled Murders in South Africa, imagine how upset those with an agenda would be?

Specially for those with an agenda with bias to try and defend the reasons behind these murders. ;)
 
FARM MURDERS DOWN BUT FARMERS SCEPTICAL

National police commissioner Riah Phiyega believes the police's safety plans are working after their statistics showed a 30 percent drop in farm murders since 2010, Beeld reported on Monday.

"It was positive. There was an annual decline since 2003, especially for one financial year [2012-13]," she told Beeld.

She attributed it to work regarding countrywide safety and communities' awareness and safety measures.

The police have not released official farm murder figures for seven years, but have kept records, Beeld reported.

Their figures showed that 271 people were murdered on farms or small-holdings in the past five years.

Farm murders declined by 71 in 2010/11 to 48 in 2013/14. The latest figures showed 36 people were murdered between April and December 2014.

The Transvaal Agricultural Union disputed the figures saying that according to their own channels, such as social media, there were at least 63 murders in 2012, 62 in 2013, and 67 in 2014.

Their figures included 45 murders inexplicably left out of police information. Their figures were per calendar year, not financial year.

LIMPOPO FARMER FOUND DEAD ON FARM

A Limpopo farmer has been found dead in a stream near his house in Swartwater, Limpopo police said on Tuesday.

Louis-John Botha, 64, was found on Monday after going missing at the weekend, Colonel Ronel Otto said.

"On Sunday evening when neighbours went to his house and could not find him, they called the police. The gate and house were open and there was also blood inside the house," she said.

A post mortem would be conducted to determine the cause of his death.

Otto said firearms and cash were suspected to have been stolen.

Definitely more to this story. His fiancé was visiting family in Pretoria when it happened. Not saying she has anything to do with it, but we have all seen this before am I right?
 
ROBBERS TORTURE WOMAN WITH BURNING PLASTIC

A creche principal in Pongola, KwaZulu-Natal, was tortured with burning plastic during an attack on a farm, Beeld newspaper reported on Tuesday.

According to a neighbour, four robbers descended on Armand and Doulina Slabbert's farm at around 2pm on Saturday.

Armand runs a nursery and Doulina the creche on the property.

Their neighbour Jess Strumpfer said on Monday the robbers grabbed Doulina and took her inside the house where Armand was showering.

They tied up Armand's disabled brother and took the couple to their bedroom.

They took money and firearms from the safe.

"They tied Doulina up, set plastic on fire and let it drip on her stomach," said Strumpfer.

This was apparently to force Armand to say where their valuables were kept.

They took the keys to two bakkies but Armand managed to free himself and confront them, forcing them to leave without the bakkies.

Doulina was treated in hospital and later discharged.

The Slabberts were not available at the time of going to press.

Provincial police spokesman Colonel Jay Naicker said no arrest had yet been made.

... TO GET INFORMATION ON VALUABLES. NOW WE HAVE MORE ARMED ROBBERIES TO WORRY ABOUT. Why is that so hard to comprehend?
