IF I understand correctly this movie came out in 2015 ?Watched it. Amazing story with a very good twist too.
I think it sums up the reality of the issue at hand. But I don't want to spoilt it for you. Watch it yourself.

Bit long in the tooth now
I have seen quite a bit of negative review claiming that the movie is merely a long advert ....... ????
Good as its intentions might be, Treurgrond comes across as one long advertisement – not only for the about 50 products and Afrikaner institutions placed in scenes that scream at the audience, but for ideologies and anger.

Can anyone that has actually seen it comment ?
but
Ooh La La the female cast ....![]()
Showmax tells me -- NO such itemI haven't seen anything related to an advert thought.unless you looked at it with a preconceived image I guess. Watch it for what it is and then judge it. It's on Showmax - 30 day free trail. Then you can tell us yourself
I'll admit there is some political undertones but if you watch the movie till the end you feel different about that.
Showmax tells me -- NO such item
Maybe the local video shop has a copy ?
I am not really interested in nightmares for the next week or so ( I have a vivid imagination )
Will have to look for Jana Strydom in something else -- a diaphanous nightie perhaps ......![]()
It's really not that Graphic, probably the last 10 minutes of the movie if that much. Seriously a great story. I recall seeing it on Showmax. Just can't access it from work now will check again tonight.
The thing that still gives me goose bumps is the even today still: "Oupa, daar is iemand in die huis" GEESUS, goose bumps again /shiver. God I don't want to ever awake by those words.

Media Statement from Limpopo Media Centre
Corporate Communication and Liaison
South African Police Service
In a relentless effort to deal with incidents of trio crimes including farm attacks in this Province, the Tactical Joint Task Team composed of the Provincial Tracking Team, Detectives and Crime Intelligence Unit, made a major breakthrough in cracking this case by arresting seven (07) suspects in Limpopo, Gauteng and Mpumalanga Provinces last week.
The arrested suspects were identified as follows:
Mhlabane Bheki (30)
Mbuyane Mpho Panuel (33)
Nkosi Dumisani (33)
Shabane Ntando (29)
Mlazi Sfiso (36)
Bhokodisa Vision (42)
Phiri Nhlanhla Willis (37)
During the arrests, one firearm, magazine and ammunition were recovered. The origin of this firearm is still being determined through the on-going Police investigations.
It is alleged that during the night of the 19 August 2017, an unknown number of suspects attacked an elderly couple in their house at Immerpan Farm near Zebediela outside Mokopane. Their bodies were discovered the morning of 20 August 2017 at about 09:00 by the family with the multiple gunshot wounds. Their hands were tied and the Police were notified and subsequently a manhunt ensued until this major breakthrough was made.
The deceased were identified as Pieter van Zyl (69) and Mathilda van Zyl (66).
The following items were robbed during this incident:
2 x hunting rifles.
1x hand gun.
1× Revolver.
The suspects appeared before the Lebowakgomo Magistrate Court briefly last week and they were all remanded in custody until 13 September 2017 for a formal bail application and and further Police investigations.
The Provincial Commissioner Lieutenant General Nneke Jim Ledwaba has commended this Team of Police Officers for the determination manifested during this operation. The cracking of this horrific incident within a short space of time, will go a long way in reducing the levels of crime, especially trio crimes in this Province, concluded General Ledwaba.
The Police investigations are still continuing.
Yeah, that "Pappa..." bit in the trailer gave me the chills. Haven't seen the movie yet, but can kind of figure out what happens next.I watched the preview some time back, the "Pappa daar is iemand in die huis" part was what put me off watching the actual movie, oh that and I did try watching it then the funny scene at the beginning with him, a farm worker and the farmworkers son just made me think, "naa"
Read loads of reports where investigators figured out that the attackers had made the father watch them murder/torture the kids and rape/torture the mother before they killed him. It's not enough that they kill innocent people - the fact that they feel the need to put them through hell like that before they snuff them out is an entirely different level of ****ed up. It's extermination with some sort of perverse power rush.
They shot at me as I ran away, says girl aged 9
Pretoria - The white man told another man who worked at the farm to fetch something, and he came back with “those things police tie criminals with when they arrest them”. These were the words of the 9-year-old girl from Zithobeni, near Bronkhorstspruit. She was allegedly assaulted and tied to a tree on a farm, she said in her statement to police.
The girl accused Schierpoort farm owner Johannes Potgieter and his employee Hendrick Dumas of assaulting her last Saturday morning. The two appeared in the Bronkhorstspruit Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday for a bail application, while members of the public demonstrating outside. The case will continue tomorrow. The girl suffered scratches on her left wrist, a cut on her index finger, scratches on both her knees and a scratch on her chin. Her mother reported that she was shaky and scared.
On the day, it was reported that three boys between the ages of 12 and 14 had decided to take their three dogs for a walk in Zithobeni. They came across the young girl and walked with her until the dogs went crazy over birds they saw and chased after them.
The group jumped over a fence to look for the dogs, only to be greeted with gunshots. The three boys ran and left the girl behind.
“While we were looking for our dogs, we saw white males. We then decided to hide in the trees, but the white males approached us. I ran; that’s when I fell and I saw one of the man carrying a big gun. He reached out and grabbed my arm,” the girl said in her statement. “And then the man slapped me with an open hand I fell to the ground. He then ordered me to jump the fence to go to the tree near the house. He then slapped me again with an open hand,” she added.
The prosecution asked why the girl was taken to the tree instead of home, but the accused said they wanted to question why she and the boys were there. The suspects claimed they told them they were hunting for springboks on the game farm. They told the court they did not assault the minor.

This isn't a farm attack. I don't believe any farmer will just shoot at people for no reason, probably warning shots at worse. If they weren't guiltily they shouldn't have ran away. If you are caught on other people's property for some legitimate reason, like looking for your dog, you should stay and explain yourself and not try and escape like a thief. They shot at me as I ran away, says girl aged 9

Authorities say the farmer is recuperating in a local hospital with serious gunshot wounds throughout his body.
Limpopo police have launched a manhunt for a group of armed suspects who attacked an elderly couple, seriously wounding the farmer and shooting dead his wife outside Bela-Bela on Wednesday morning.
Police spokesperson Lieutenant-Colonel Moatshe’ Ngoepe said the attack happened at around 8:30 on the farm TNT outside Bela-Bela.
“It is alleged that four unknown armed suspects, two wearing balaclavas and hand gloves, arrived at this farm, pointed the domestic worker with firearms and instructed her to the owners’ house.
