Ok how many brutal attacks in france? Off course you gonna have few brutal attacks in the eu, does it come anywhere near sa figures? So which is the more brutal society?

Well, you can't deny we excel at it! Rape capital of the world (some of the highest incidence of sexual assault against children and babies in the world), 7th in homicide and I think 15th in the hijacking rankings.

Not saying we don't have a problem, because only an idiot would say we don't. But the way people here go on you could swear we were number one on all those lists, and that the rest of the non-****hole world is a crime free utopia.

Only place I've ever been mugged is Barcelona though.

Where did I say there were MORE murders or old people murders in place A than in place B? I’ll answer myself: I didn’t. Your question is therefore pointless.

The assumption made by Mephisto was old people murders in a specificity to SA. I answered that it’s not.

No need for a debate or spending 20 minutes on it.

It seems to bother you really hard that SA is not an innovator in crime matters.

Second answer, where did I say that place A is more or less brutal than place B? Nowhere.

I just said that SA does not have a copyright or a worldwide exclusivity on elders brutality as Mephisto made it look like.

You want to keep on finding ways to dishonestly change goal posts to win who knows what or we can leave it there?

Compared to the non-schitehole countries we probably are top of the list and when comparing figures they probably do look like utopias for someone from a schitehole.

I've lived in two countries (UK and SA) and prefer it here. Always wonder how **** it would be for someone to emigrate to avoid crime, and then to be a victim of crime somewhere else. Because it happens elsewhere too, as the French wolf pointed out, and as I mentioned earlier Barcelona was the scene of my only mugging so far... *touches wood quickly *

Man arrested for Sweet Home Farm murder

Cape Town – A man has been arrested in connection with a murder that took place in Sweet Home Farm in December.

Police spokesperson Sergeant Noloyiso Rwexana said the 20-year-old man had allegedly stabbed a 23-year-old man during December 2017 in Sweet Home Farm.

The victim died later in hospital.

Rwexana said the man had been arrested and would appear in the Athlone Magistrate’s Court on Monday, January 29, on a charge of murder.

Going abroad on a working holiday waiting on tables is very different to well educated skilled people leaving permanently, and crime is just one of many factors that these people consider when deciding to move.

I am hoping that the "nothing is being done" crowd will someday catch on and appreciate the hard work that is being done to fight crime.

You can’t imagine how many times a week my expat friends and I get the question. Why are you in SA?

People look at us like loonies, think that everything is cheaper and easier in Europe. But don’t realize that a decent flat in Paris or London is 25k minimum and that salaries are not that different in some jobs.
