Farm Attacks

Had 3 visitors again this morning right behind the houses, at 3h30.When I wanted to go outside to check my 5 YO started crying and telling me I can't leave. Luckily the ran when security spotted them. It's only a matter of time before this country sees a full scale war of some kind, no way we can go buckled under this amount of crime forever, something will give.

You should listen to your 5 YO. Going outside to "check" is not smart IMO
 
Normally I just go take a drive with the caddy, wouldn't walk around outside at night, the thieves are almost never this close to the houses. And the neighbour closest to me is the only one that's armed, his is also the only house they keep targeting. It's as if these MF's wants to be shot.

The tik koppe are high and DGAF when they hit. Apparently they were having a field day this weekend. Some has a bit of fun on Saturday morning shooting bikes and cars with ketties near Blue Jay. Just stay away from them, they're cray cray.

You know how close we are to Blue Jay so that is slightly scary. I won't deny that I am nervous as fck over this whole thing. Busy with an order for moerse lot flood lights, want to light this place up to prevent this ****ers from hiding in the dark. Want to replace the caddy's battery also today as it didn't want to start this morning in the early hours.

How are you comfortable on a bike cycling past therr every day, you will need to get something to defend yourself with as well.

I had the same thought. I told him to just shoot one and make sure to kill the fcker, but he is scared of getting into crap.

On the 1st February just before 1am this year I was attacked, shot 6 times and left for dead. Luckily I was home alone at the time, I was unarmed, they did not care as 4 of them left 33 casings without a word. I managed to damage 2 of them in the dark with a police batton but I did not notice the other 2 whose bullets hit me. For the sceptics these guys were not random opportunists, they were familiar to the police as evidence pointed to them been responsible for several farm attacks. Lessons learned, they have absolutely no value for your life so don't believe you will be able to negotiate with them, dont go outside to respond to noises etc... (I was hit in my dining room but investigators found evidence that they had been scouting outside for several hours. Don't rely on the police they are beyond useless, I managed to call for help on my farm radio when I gained consciousness and 70 farm watch neighbors responded, police arrived hours later. To date I have not heard from the police 4 months later, info I have came from the farm watch.

Yeah, police help is down to luck, one helps oneself and ones neighbours.

I don't go out that early, usually between 6:00 and 6:30, but I have had a few encounters so I know what to look for. The kettie kids were probably just out for sh_tz and giggles but the tikke koppe are out for loot. A tell tale sign they want you off the bike is when you approach them from behind is they split up to have you ride between them, down the middle. Never do that. Got a nasty bruise on my shin as one hit/kicked me to get me to fall as I drove through them. They also attack near the railway bridge at Smarty town.

Now I am not comparing this to farm attacks, these are just small opportunist criminals trying to feed there habits. The real threat comes a bit further down the R304, the people that killed Alberto Costa years ago.

I still think you should get something to use to defend yourself, these guys are not lekker in the head.

:D I also drive around with a knife in my car, sitting just above my right knee in a small "cubby hole". You never know what to expect in this sh.thole.
 
Thanks gents for the comments, my ordeal was on a game farm 2km from Ellisras in limpopo close to where the Drs Emslies mentioned earlier were attached. **** luck it happened my last night in that house as I was moving, good luck that I lived, I think me retaliating saved my life as they were cold killers.
Recovery going ok, back at work now but left arm nerve damage debilitating but feeling blessed to still be around.
I never believed in firearms but after this experience one has to be foolish not to have one as these guys are well armed and with your back to a wall you have very little chance against them otherwise.
