Fastcomm's incompetence continues

"We'll launch on 1 April"
Website still says this. It didn't happen.

"The shops will open on monday"
They didn't (today).

"The shops will now only open after the easter weekend".
The worst part is the absolute arrogance of the people that work there. Totally unhelpful, and I shudder to say this, but TELKOM PROVIDES BETTER SERVICE. No jokes.
 
You obviously haven't had anything to do with the building industry. Fast Comm's shopfitters have been having a problem.
Let me tell you it is about the same in the IT industry. People don't know what they are doing.
So fast comm have to rely on people who don't care whether it takes a week longer.
I have been in contact with Fast Comm and they have been pleasant and I have even purchased the patch antenna, paid by electronic banking and am collecting tomorrow from their shop in Village walk.
You have to be nice to people to get what you want.
Or you can bitch and moan
 
My dear, I've been nothing but accommodating and nice to these people.

The fact that the people they rely on to get their shop fitted are incompetent is not my (or anyone else on this forum's) problem. This is all pointing to one thing: BAD MANAGEMENT.

Did their shopfitters also cause their website not to be launched on the date they said? The best part is, they don't even bother to put up an apology or explanation. They just leave it - "This service will be available from 1 April"... which year? 2021?

When you speak to them on the telephone, they are so dismissive and they talk down to you as if they're doing you a favour by selling you their products. They requested a "business strategy" from me. I'd love to know who they think they are - the woman literally asked me for a one page essay about my business's plans, strategy, etc. That has nothing to do with them, so I ordered it from Sentech instead. Sure, they were also quite invasive, but it was figures, not the story of my business and privelaged information on how it is run. And at least they are more helpful and friendly.

The facts remain that they have consistently let us down. Vote elsewhere with your money.

but there's a difference between being nice and being a total pushover [:p]

I'm nice to them, but in a firm "or else" tone. curse if i have to get a point accross... and if they get pissy, i always remind them that I AM the customer and THEY are the service provider, i usually joke about it, like "yea i know, must be a bitch dealing with customers after being such a small company, demand is high" and add some stuff yourself if you want

So yea, I'm nice in a sadistic way [;)]

I have a very low tolerance for people being so unhelpful. Believe me, they have been put in their place many times by me.

I am not afraid of standing up for my rights as a consumer, I told Sentech point blank they are not getting my complete financial statements (privelaged info does not concern them), so they made a concession that I can send them signed balance sheet which I was going to give anyway.

Sometimes these big companies need to be reminded of their place.
 
It is quite amazing that we always find someone that complains about incompetence and there will always be someone to defend them ……..

I'm not sure what you mean :-) I'm not dealing with them. I sent you an email on Monday and I was wondering if it got through (re stock/availability of the PCMCIA modem/Antenna).

I just went to the shop in Pretoria and bought directly from them. Couldn't wait.
