Here is how to use Fasterfox with Firefox 3.

Just note the part where it says the " need to be removed from the code, also make sure to enter the correct FF3 version you have, check it at Help> About in Firefox.

Just did it as the link shows and no problems ;)

Evidently I'm stupid: I believe I followed instructions, but my 3.0.3 failed it ..would putting "3.0.3" instead of "3.0.0" as my version (obviously sans quotes) be the problem?

Yes. ;) I put 3.0.3 and it worked, remember to remove the inverted commas.

Fair enough ..but I LOOKED for said items, musta blanked out or something :o

Let me know if you got it working ;) Otherwise I'll just upload that file somewhere.

Anyone have a download manager that works with FF3? I have FDM, but I need to drag the link of the download to FDM to use it... Not always working so lekker...

Get an extension called flashgot. Should help FF and FDM to play nicely.

I use Orbit, don't need anything extra, it has it's own extension for FF. It's the fastest free download manager I've used so far and I've tried many.

Seeing as this uses more connections to the server, uses something like 48 max connections, when default is 4, will it use more cap? or aren't the requests sent from my machine?

Good question :p I'm sure it would slightly more, but the file gets transferred once whether fast or slow.

You'll see that if you clear your browser cache and you visit this site again, it will load slowly or slower on the first 2 to 3 times than before clearing it. Your browser basically caches/stores key areas of a website to make it load faster for you the next time and it doesn't download it again.

Good question though, I'd lie if I said I knew the definitive answer.
