Fastest Internet browser

It's a trade-off. Speed versus adaptability. I want the speed with all the add-ons! :D

Internet Exploider has such a high percentage because:
  1. Many workstations run the standard browser shipped with the OS
  2. There are many idiots out there

I just tried opera.

Damn! That thing is fast.
But alas, I'm back on Firefox with all my add-ons.

So the slower browsers have more market share and the faster browsers less market share.

Huh?

Firefox with addons rules. What's the point of having a lightning fast browser on a slow connection - it's like owning a Ferrari but you have to use Mpumalanga's road network?

Chrome is the fastest under Windows, this is launch time, rendering time, whatever.

However I'm using Safari because I like the OS X style antialiasing option. It's also fast enough, and now features extensions, I have a gmail and greader extension.

And how many workplaces still force you to use IE.
Showed a lady firefox with its private browsing and she switched over at here work.
Glad to see there is a good improvement in the beta firefox over firefox 3.6.6

Chrome rules !
The test "they" did, were they Windows, XP or 7, Linux (sucks) or Appull ?

My IE 8 just did it in 4814ms and Google Chrome in 322ms....huge difference to the results from the original article.

Woudl bandwitdh not have anything to do with the tests?

No it's just the speed of Javascript execution. Only things that matter are CPU speed and rendering engine.

the question wasnt about browser addons.

the clear winner is opera.

Opera has been leading in browser speed for a while now and it comes standard with alot of functions that other browser still need "as additional plugins".

opera mini on a cellphone is also lightning fast.
