Fat Removal Thread

Why must you deprive yourself of life's pleasures like the panty dropper - Lindt balls?

Just have less of it.

just use the real balls, that exercise burns many calories!

if one is fat and overweight, then one MUST remove the temptations completely... they are fat because they can't control themselves.

Realistically no temptation can be removed because it's EVERYWHERE you look.

Trying to avoid it causes stress leading to more bingeing. Accept that it's there, be mindful of it's threat and manage it.

Willpower is a finite resource. It’s very easy to make sure there are no doughnuts in the fridge or Chuckles in the pantry. In fact that kind of temptation control is proven to be extremely effective. Why are you talking so much trash today?

1. Get a Rowing Machine or a Bicycle. Either one
2. Buy the Milk replacement shakes from USN called Dietfuel. They are cheapest from Takealot and work like a charm. Just that and cycling eventually 30-60 minutes a day and in 4 months lost 22kgs.
Start 15 minutes, then next week 30 till 60. Just a gentle slope not uphill. The more uphill the less you burn ironically.

Watch some TV while you do it or a movie or listen to some music.
Use the diet shake to replace two meals. It tastes like Mcdonalds somewhat and takes away your hunger.

Do remember that at the end of the day loosing weight is purely maths. You have about 2700 calories. Above it and gain weight, below it you loose weight. Do note though that if you start really loosing weight you may feel like you have flue and have this cold shivers etc. Its basically your body adjusting. Can feel bad but you should be ok.

Avoid diet pills.

And anything Herbalife. It tastes like sht

Rowing is best but if you feel like taking out frustrations. Play squash or tennis. Good exercise.

Cut down on sugar. Sugar actually messes up your allergies.

Its great that you had sucsess this way but it is a hard way to achieve it.
Flu like symptoms and shivering is also a sign of overtraining so you should slow things down a bit. A rest day is also important.

For the diet drink that's fine for when you are feeling hungry outside your 3 healthy meals a day but just replacing meals with a diet shake is also not great. What is important is to eat healthy whole foods and not energy dense foods.

The way you are going about it is not a lifestyle change and is prone to problems causing weight gain again once you are tired of the new me torture program.

Wife and I started swimming some time ago as low impact exercise and I started running beginning of this year.
Most importantly started intermittent fasting.

Working from home with full fridge and Spar 500m from our house is recipe for disaster that got me to over 96kg.
I love sweets and I had to cut them completely out because I most likely have sugar addiction so I can not stop with small piece of chocolate, all must be finished.
Snacking was also a problem while watching tv, being bored or stressing.

IF gave me bit more structure (16/8) and so far it looks good, went from 96kg in December to 90.4kg now.
Visits to Spar also reduced.

I'm hoping that in 6 months I will be close or below 80kg and half marathon under my belt!

Eh - I disagree. I made a decision to just eat whole foods and have zero stress about it. Don't need to count calories, don't need to manage anything. Obviously what works for one doesn't work for another but I think half the reason people can't stick to diets that involve calorie management is their lives are busy enough without also needing to exert willpower and calorie counting at most meals.

Agee, once you experience the benefits of Whole Foods, you won't want to go back to junk food.

You're the exception rather than the rule. Most dont even know what a calorie is or even how to count it.
Food is food.

Calorie restriction through whole foods actually takes people out their comfort zone and it feels unnatural. It's easier to teach them to eat whatever they like, just less of it.

It time less calories will make more sense.

For most individuals the transition is next to impossible.
Eat the junk just less of it would be a practical approach.

No pizza, burgers and sjips??

Ag no man. What kind of life is that.

Most people are happy to eat this type of meal:

Forget pantry or fridge. Temptation starts the minute you step out the door.
The machine has been built to constantly attack you.
You can resist up to a point before it completely overwhelms you.
Absolutely nothing wrong with doughnuts or chuckles just be mindful of how much of it you need to consume.

So, I needed to get rid of some lockdown weight - actually quite a chunk of lockdown weight.

Dietician wanted me to go on Ozempic but its not registered here yet so she put me on Saxenda injections (liraglutide). It worked fantastic for about 4 weeks as the doses increased. I had almost no appetite. Just looking at food made me feel sick. Dropped 8KG in a month.

But then it started wavering a bit almost like my body got used to it. And i got hungry of note. She kept saying its mind over matter because Saxenda should work for years, but it just didn't. Finally I stopped it because at R5000pm excl visits I just felt like it was not working.

That said, i've heard others have had success with it. One thing that is my problem is I travel A LOT for work. So almost 60% of my meals in a month are eaten out of the house. When i'm at home i'm not bothered to make food so then its Uber eats....

IF is one idea but then which way do i do it? If I skip dinner i'm stuck taking clients out and they're eating while i watch them with a glass of water and they think i'm insane. If I skip breakfast most hotels its already paid-for so i'm wasting a paid meal and buying another one at 12h00... Dunno which way to do this lol.

Eat less, and do more. Dish less food up, order less food or something healthier and go for walks or a run (if you're able to). At the end of the day, to lose weight, you need to be in a calorie deficit.
