Fax Machine and Internet

Hi

Do I need a filter for the fax machine when I have ADSL.
How do I still have my Telkom phone take my messages when I have a fax machine. It goes over to automated fax instead of the answering machine.

Please help.

You'll need a filter, not sure if you can use the Telkom voicemail service if thats what you mean, because if the fax machine answers then it won't be diverted to that, doesn't your fax machine have an answering machine?

No , I doubt it. only a auto answer , but I think that is for the fax (auto answer).

Maybe if I put the fax machine to answer the fax after 15 rings and the Telkom voicemail on 12 rings?

why put the fax to auto answer at all then?

You can do that but then the fax will never answer so not much point.
