I am looking for a fax solution to help my clients via wireless network. Clients are currently using VOIP over the same system with great results but faxing remains an Issue.

Any solutions out there?

Have a look into T.37 implementations i.e. SMTP, MIME, etc transport based store and forward solutions.

Fax to e-mail is not what he wanted.
There must be a FOIP solution?:D

You can't fax reliably SIP to PSTN. The moment the PSTN Connection is converted to IP things go bad - this is by design in the SIP protocol and and things like echo cancellation / noise supression that affects the fax tones.

You will have to use something like hylafax on the pabx or something like that.

Well, that depends on how many clients he has... There is little point in re-inventing the wheel.

BTW: The solution I refered to is Email to Fax [slightly different from fax to email :p]

Its great for people without a physical fax line - if you send lots of faxes it may be is not cheap.

By all means, if you are going to save $ in the long run, then go ahead and invest in developing something fancy.

Have a look here. If you find something cheaper post your results, maybe google "opensource fax server".

Try Callweaver and newer Asterisk versions

Try callweaver as your fax gateway with quintum FXS gateways.
Quintum ISDN Gateways with Callweaver and Asterisk seems to give improved T38 support.
T38 works surprisingly well.
Also have Planet and Grandstream FOIP t38 gateways working OKish.

Have also done limited t38 testing with Asterisk 1.6.2.0-rc2-5.
It seems Asterisk is improving now on t38 Handling

Solution

I have found something ...

This device connects to a traditional fax machine and send faxed via the internet, it even works on wireless mikrotik networks.

FaxScan – functionality and management
The FaxScan device provides a 100% reliable transmission of fax messages over the public
internet by using a Store-and-Forward design (not T.37) that leverages the web services
provided in the FaxCore fax server.
Implementation is a two step process that involves the FaxCore Provisioning Server (FPS), which
runs on the FaxCore Fax Server as web based components, and the deployment of the FaxScan
devices to the customer premise. The FPS is used to configure each FaxScan device with the
URL (external DNS name or IP address) of the FaxCore server it will send faxes to and receive
confirmations & faxes from. The FPS sets the dial string parameters of the FaxScan devices and
pushes firmware updates out to the devices.
FaxScan devices can be activated and deactivated, by creating and disabling, their unique User
Account in the FaxCore fax server. The User Account is the device’s serial number and the
management of the FaxScan user accounts is the same as management of normal user profiles.
FaxScan User Accounts can be manually set up or automatically created if the FaxScan device
has a corresponding User Account in the LDAP compliant database that FaxCore is
synchronizing with.
Installation of the FaxScan devices requires the phone line from the fax machine to be
connected to FaxScan as well as an Ethernet connection to a LAN or WAN that has access to the
public internet. When the FaxScan device is first turned on it attempts to register with FaxCore
server that was programmed in by the FPS. Once registration is completed the FaxCore
Administrator will get an email from FPS, confirming the successful registration.
To use the FaxScan device, the sender uses the fax machine as they normally would. When a
fax is sent from the fax machine it will be received by FaxScan, which triggers a confirmation
page to be printed by the fax machine, therefore we recommend turning off the printing of fax
confirmations so as to avoid confusion. The fax message still must be sent to the FaxCore
server for ultimate delivery to the number that was keyed into the fax machine. Once the fax is
successfully sent (or if it fails), by the FaxCore server, a confirmation page can be sent back to
the originating fax machine via the FaxScan device.
FaxScan devices can also act in reverse order, meaning a fax can be received at the FaxCore
server and then Routed to the User Account associated with the FaxScan device. See the Fax
Routing document for a description of fax routing methods. Once the received fax is routed to
the appropriate FaxScan device the fax can be printed out on the fax machine attached to the
FaxScan device.
A copy of every fax that is sent and received by the FaxScan device is also stored in the FaxCore
server and can be viewed using the FaxCore web interface.
