Faxing and security issues

Interesting informercial, but fax machines are just about extinct in any case, so who cares?

Jeez, do people still use faxes? If you're still conducting your business via fax I'd say you've got bigger issues than just security.

Anyone remember the old TV ad for fax machines from - Nashua - I think - showing an engineer trying to explain a design to another guy over the telephone - he started out constructing a crane like device from rubber bands, pencils, rulers and compasses of various sizes before the whole thing collapsed on him - and the FAX maker's logo appeared?

Yes but there's this wonderful invention called a scanner. Combined with email it makes an utterly unbeatable alternative to the fax machine.

Faxing is so '60s. Wait, or is it 50s?

Point is, its a dead technology that needs to be eradicated. Hell, my mobile phone does a better job of transmiting data. Capture image with camera, send via email or MMS.

Quality is way better, even when scaled down to MMS dimensions.

Nobody will ever catch me sending, or receiving a fax. I use a scanner, and email, or my mobile phone and email or MMS.

Sending and receiving faxes may be outdated and slow, but still it is an important business tool. Not everyone has bought into using email as their primary tool for transmission of documents, so neglecting it would be a foolish business decision.

strangely enough people still use fax machines....
