Fedora 10 sparkles

I am a huge Fedora fan and I'll keep on using it for the foreseeable future!

Just be aware that Fedora is not really a beginners distro (IMO) and that it is not always as user friendly as Ubuntu is trying to be. You will have to get your hands dirty, especially in the beginning, but if you like that sort of thing then Fedora is the way to go.

That's just my opinion. Now, if I could only get this damn fglrx problem sorted..... :D

I love it. ;)

Guess I'll be raping tenet tonight for a copy... :D

No, we try very hard to stay awake as long as our servers do... Just for fun.

I just got in the office after a good night sleep, and gues what, I'm reading this on a Wind:pws machine... You guys are nuts. Your manager should bring you back to reality by buying you windows machines in the office:D:D

As for me I'm still trying to acquaint myself with the Linux world, but I'll get there. Enjoy it guys...:D

weirdly enough on the official site its listing the dl at 680mb
Does anyone know where it is on the local mirrors?
tenet doesnt seem to have it yet and IS only have the SRPMS from what I can see.

I haven't been able to find a South African mirror yet. :(

Earlier this month, I downloaded the Live CD (preview) from here http://torrent.fedoraproject.org/ - just because I couldn't wait any more. All of those are now final releases.

Even though it is possible to update the live release (incl. preview) to a full release, it still eats up a lot of bandwidth. So, I normally order the full DVD via snail mail.

P.S. I'm not sure if I'm allowed to mention the place's name, but the full dvd, handwritten label, DVD case and shipping costs < R60. Not bad.

I dont like distro's using the rpm package manager (personal preference). And spent way to much time with my Gentoo sculpting it into the awesomeness it is now to switch...or ever haha

;).

Yes, that's the place.

I had some problems getting my credit card verified this time around. It wasn't Foss CDs' fault, though, it was my bank!. There's something called 3D Secure. When you enter the name that is printed on your card, you have to enter MR (if you are a Mr), followed by *three* spaces , then your initials and surname. Exactly as it is printed on your card and all in capitals. I only found this out after phoning a Pretoria number to get my card unblocked.

Anyway, my card is now "3D Secured" and I shouldn't have to go through that process again...

It is also possible to pay by bank transfer.
