Fedora 13 Ready

This is actually one distro I have never tried in all my years of using Linux. Think back then my concerns were the package manager & dependency hell so I just avoided all rpm based distros.

Wonder if Linus is gonna biatch about the dropping of PPC support as he had a ppc mac...

I've taken a liking to K/Ubuntu and their Debian (apt) package management. Local everything is also an added bonus. But I'll testdrive Fedora when it is released.

I am using both but prefer Fedora, multiple monitors is a breeze to set up, no need to go to Mars or Jupiter...
Can't wait for 13.

I like a bit of eye candy. Fedora's default theme is just horrible. Reminds me of Windows 95, dont know why. Love Ubuntu 10.04's default theme.

Then there's this nice chick with a sultry voice that gives Ubuntu tutorials on YouTube (keeps me glued to my seat) and Ubuntu was started by a South African. Local is lekker. :)

I tend not to like fedora... the whole only "opensource" stuff gets to me. Tried it once, couldn't play mp3's out of the box.
But epel seems to cure these problems now adays.

The problem with fedora in general, IMHO, is that their release dates are to quick. Where Debian(stable) and slackware other distros take some time to get system stable. Sure FC is based on red hat, but RH still hasn't even got support for chrome yet, cause chrome libs are too new.

So for a properly run ( stable ) OS, with support for security and SELinux etc thats up to date, I would prefer say Centos or RHEL .... Using Centos at the moment. Although my home pc is a Debian system and also a freebsd box...

i guess if you want the latest for rhel and cant wait for releases, say the coming rhel6 then FC is what you get. but personally I dont think its good at all

IMHO.
