Fedora 9 makes Linux easy

I must say - as someone that has not had any input with Linux, the manner in which the article was written, makes Fedora9 seem very appealing :)

Well done by the new guy :) ;)

Have always wanted to play around with Linux...

go have a look at Virtual Box, it'll let you install linux (or any OS) in a virtual machine (ie. In windows) to try out linux without having to format hard drives or even reboot your PC. You wont get the 3d features, but it's a very good way to "play around" in linux without breaking/losing anything on your PC.

I've only used Ubuntu, but this article certainly makes me want to try Fedora as well :). With the speed with which new versions of Linux distros are released MS must surely be getting hot under the collar :D.

What does Fedora have that Ubuntu does not already have? Okay... read the article.. it doesnt have anything ubuntu doesnt already have, but its nice to see Fedora picking up the pace the in the desktop market.

DVD Available

Where can a get a Fedora 9 DVD from in the Pretoria East or Illovo (JHB) region. Don't have enough gigs available to download.
Also, which will be better 32 bit or 64 bit version.
Thanks.

But it will have a different look and feel to it, which is great because more people will be attracted to Linux:).

Seeing that Ubuntu comes on a CD (700mb) and Fedora comes on a DVD (3.3GB) there is a lot more in Fedora. One thing I like is the ability to choose between KDE and Gnome when the user log in.

That is a choice, though. The rest of those packages can all be installed from the ubuntu repos. You can also choose to have both kde and gnome desktops in ubuntu.

It all depends on which distro you prefer, and whether you'd prefer to download/acquire 3.3GB, or 700MB and install what you want later.

Ain't choice great? :D

Played any cool games on Linux recently? Like Gears of War, Crysis, Assassins Creed, Unreal Tournament 3 etc? :p

Well done. You define yourself by the car you drive and the games you play

If you want to play games get a console. PC games are dying so why does Linux have to worry?
