Hi all,

So I moved my line from Telkom to Vox last month and then had a random R300 fee for "General Adjustments" show up on my invoice. After trying to get through to Telkom accounts, I finally got through on the 3rd try and the lady said that there is a R300 fee when moving your line from Telkom to a different ISP?

Dafuq. Since when, this is the first I have ever heard of this?
Is this true? Has it always been in place or are they just trying to get more money out of me?

If so who can I speak to to try and get this resolved?

Thanks,
Psy

I had the same issue and the lady referred me to the website.
Didn't tell me where to look she just said it's there.

It is not there and I tried to argue it but she didn't care.

On my bill it says 'other', not even a valid description.
I will be going in to the Telkom store to lodge an official dispute.

I did multiple upgrades over the past few months.
From 4mbit to 10mbit, then last month from 10mbit to 20mbit and moved my line after all the upgrades were done.

I have no contract with Telkom, it is all month to month. Any idea whether TelkomZA might be able to assist or if my best bet is to go to a Telkom store?

No no no they are lying. Go to a store or via twitter and ask them to please create a dispute for you. You should see the credit within 3 days on the telkom website when you log in. You can also view the disputes there and if they have been accepted.

Possibly discount reversal due to early line contract termination?

You have to cancel a contract with Telkom first before they allow you to transfer your line. When you do that they should advise you on the cancellation fee if any. I tried to transfer my line to axxess and was declined because of the active 25% discount line contract so yeah they decline the transfer.

I sent TelkomZA a PM, shall see if I have enough time to stop by the Telkom store tomorrow otherwise I might need to log one via Twitter.
Do I just message them and tell them I would like to open a dispute?

I got the same bill when I moved from Telkom to Axxess during a 20Mbs upgrade. I disputed it and apparently I can't get credited because the fee wasn't an error.

I got billed when I went to 20Mb with Crystal Web.
I am thinking it is an upgrade to Wholesale as they call it.

It's not mentioned anywhere which is what my argument is.
Telkom will be hearing from me, that's for sure.

Dial 10210 (or go to the online form http://www.telkom.co.za/sites/contactus/emailus&formId=1362048125073 ) and lodge a billing dispute.

Once you have a ref number, go the Twitter / social media route.

Always better to have a ref number for audit / tracking purposes.

Yeah I did with a contract fee they decided to add to my invoice. Tweeted them and they followed me so I direct messaged them asking to open a dispute for me. They did and 3 days later the credit showed on my account.
