Female condoms

Can't say I've ever had an experience with a female condom, but the pill sounds like your best bet if you could just get into a habit of taking the bloody thing at the same time every day. Wake up - pop the pill. Carry on with life. Scream at SU. Break down. Cry. Blowjob.

You know, the usual...

Think certain Medical Aids need the referal letter. And most of the times the Gynaes that have long waing lists are Othe ones that deal with births as well.

And Mooks put your big girl panties on and go see a good Gynae and really consider geting a new Gp too

I'm sure I've said this before ( I could be mistaken ) but I don't live in South Africa. Going to 'specialists' here is a bit more of a process than back home. In fact, to get an appointment with a GP you have to be assessed by a nurse first who then ascertains whether it is even necessary for you to go to the actual GP.

Do you live in the 19th century?

You posted that while i was still typing my post :erm: so i kind of missed it till now.

from your other posts looks like your only option is non latex condoms, though i still think should see a good gynae (no chance of flying home for that? ) there are so many varieties of pill and contraceptives you might be lucky and have one that will work for you.

My sister uses a contraceptive named Evra, instead of taking pills, you use a patch that you replace weekly. Its much less of a hassle than taking pills

Well, latex allergy means no "normal" condoms; injections & implant both gave my hormones such a shock that instead of the average 28 day cycle, I would have a 3-6 day cycle. For 3years.

Holy ****balls batman! Your doc is an idiot. CHANGE YOUR GP. If you had a 3-6 day cycle instead of the normal 28 day one on the implant/injections it only means ONE thing. THE DOSAGE WAS WRONG.

It's funny re: the forgetting to take the pill thing. It's not too hard to set an alarm that goes off each morning to remind you to take the pill hey. WE HAVE THE TECHNOLOGY!!! ;)

To get to a gynie in this country you have to get a referral from your house doctor first and even then they will only send you if its something they feel is out of their knowledge realm.

On what planet can you not go straight to a gynaecologist ??

I have done so for x number of years now ........ you just call their office and make an appointment, there's nothing to it.

Where the hell are you that they limit you so much? :wtf:
Can you at least go to another GP?

Lol, I live in the Netherlands, so it's not exactly a backward country. You just have to have a referral to see a doc outside of a GP. Even when I needed some physio I had to make an appointment, be assessed by a trainee doctor, then went back to see the GP then they posted a letter to a physiotherapist who posted me a letter with my appointment time. ;) As for a gynae, that would only be possible if it was for a specialised gynecological problem.

Injections come in 2mnth and 3mnth options. Both had the same effect. The implants are not something that you can change the dosage on. Once they are in, they're in and they release hormones at a constant rate (AFAIK).

Will try the Evra thing - might be worthwhile!

What you need are polyurethane condoms. I think you get polyurethane male and female condoms.

This sounds INCREDIBLY backwards, no matter where you live !

What about pregnant women who need/want a monthly checkup during pregnancy?

Whaa.....
The NETHERLANDS of all places!? If I wasn't sitting down already, I 'd need to. Seriously, get another doctor, GP's are not supposed to be shy or stuck-up. ****. I thought you were gonna say Dubai or rural India or someplace. Geez. No.

Well in that case tell the nurse you've got the blue wafflez. Then we'll see how quickly they get you to a gynae

I think pregnancy can safely be assumed to be a specialised OB/GYN area... That said, the medical insurance system here doesnt cover monthly check ups during confinement. AFAIK its every 6-8weeks until the 3rd trimester when its every 2-3wks depending.

So just pretend to be pregnant in order to get an appointment with a Gynaecologist .... problem solved !

When you get to his/her office, say you misunderstood how their system works but now that you are there, you have a question .............
