Female condoms

...so female condoms seems the best bet.

Any experience here?

I have tried, with my girlfriend once, as I somehow got one... I don't remember how.

I can tell you that they are really, really not pleasant.

#1 - it takes a while to install. Longer than a condom.
#2 - it looks really weird, the bottom of it is a loop that sticks out and dangles between her legs
#3 - in action it was noisy: squeaking and squeaking. Not the most erotic sound.
#4 - it is more noticeable in terms of feel/sensation than a condom, feels like shagging with a Shoprite bag on.

Lol, I live in the Netherlands, so it's not exactly a backward country. You just have to have a referral to see a doc outside of a GP. Even when I needed some physio I had to make an appointment, be assessed by a trainee doctor, then went back to see the GP then they posted a letter to a physiotherapist who posted me a letter with my appointment time. ;) As for a gynae, that would only be possible if it was for a specialised gynecological problem.

Injections come in 2mnth and 3mnth options. Both had the same effect. The implants are not something that you can change the dosage on. Once they are in, they're in and they release hormones at a constant rate (AFAIK).

Will try the Evra thing - might be worthwhile!

Trust me, you get those in different dosages, not just "how many months". My gf used to get ****ed up periods like that when they figured out that the dosage was too heavy for her system so they put her on a lighter dosage. Now everything is normal.

One of the known side-effects of this product (but denied by the pharmaceutical companies) is extensive hair loss.

When I heard about it, I decided the product is not an option.

Also "dangerous" for women predisposed to clinical depression (which I am).

I have to be honest, I'm looking for something that is as non-invasive in terms of my body chemistry as possible. I'm a far cry from a hippy, but I kind of feel like we should give our bodies a break every once in a while from all the crap we pump into it. Artificial hormones, artificial mood stabilisers and enhancers etc etc. I quite like the idea of letting my body find its own rhythm. These days girls are put on contraceptives from the moment they start menstruating and that cant be healthy (please note that statement has no medical backing at all, it's simply the gut feeling of a woman who has been taking hormones for half her life :p )

Since nothing seems to be suitable I think you need to train your man to do coitus interruptus :)

Now I remember why I don't hang around these sections of the forum.

Decent non-latex male condoms are probably your best bet. They feel pretty much the same as latex ones.
^ From experience, ex-gf was also allergic to latex.

There's another method where you take you can safely have intercourse just after ovulation. But its quite risky, you're limited to 5 days a month and you have to take your temperature.

Its probably the most natural way along with coitus interruptus.

That's like saying not to eat food at the risk of getting fat.

A buddy of mine used Glad Wrap when push came to a push.

One has to question a woman who agrees to have cling wrap ... er ... i cant think of a diplomatic way to say what i need to say... but you catch my drift!
