Raise the roof! New Ferrari SF90 Spider revealed with 735 kW
The new Ferrari SF90 Spider has been revealed, with the Maranello-based firm effectively now offering its first series production plug-in hybrid electric vehicle in convertible form.
Like the SF90 Stradale coupé revealed back in May 2019, the new retractable hard-top model combines a 574 kW turbocharged 4,0-litre V8 engine with three electric motors for peak system outputs of 735 kW and 800 N.m.
That’s enough, says the Prancing Horse brand, for a blast from zero to 100 km/h in just 2,5 seconds (matching the coupé) and a top speed of 340 km/h. The SF90 Spider will reach 200 km/h in a claimed 7,0 seconds, some three-tenths behind the SF90 Stradale.
One electric motor is mounted at the rear (between the engine and the eight-speed dual-clutch transmission), with the other two sited on the front axle. The SF90 Spider is furthermore equipped with all-wheel drive. With a fully charged 7,9 kWh battery, Ferrari says the SF90 Spider can cover “up to 25 km” in fully electric mode, with top speed limited to 135 km/h.

The Ferrari SF90 Stradale has been given a relatively small bump in power at the hands of Wheelsandmore. Together with the increase in performance, the custom firm has also installed a unique set of wheels for a more distinctive look.
As standard, the Ferrari SF90 Stradale uses a turbocharged 4,0-litre V8 engine in conjunction with three electric motors. One electric motor is mounted at the rear between the engine and transmission and the other two are positioned on the front axle. With this system it delivers 735 kW and 800 N.m of torque.
Cranking this up to 822 kW and 920 N.m of torque is a Tec-Tronic auxiliary control unit. Wheelsandmore hasn’t confirmed any improvements in acceleration times but it says that top speed has been increased from 340 km/h to 350 km/h.
It appears that the module only bumps up power from the ICE and leaves the lithium-ion battery untouched. This unit provides power to all three electric motors and offers a 25 km range in all-electric eDrive mode, using just the front axle. When the internal combustion engine is turned off, the two independent front motors deliver a maximum speed of 135 km/h. Reverse can only be selected in eDrive mode, which means the car is manoeuvred at low speeds without using the V8. The aforementioned front motors are integrated into the launch control strategy for maximum performance when accelerating.

A video emanating from Brazil has caused quite the scene and rightly so after a delivery company made a crucial error while offloading a car.
It’s not just any car as the title suggests, it is the very expensive Ferrari SF90 Stradale finished in striking yellow paint.
It appears the lift either failed completely or the right procedure was not followed to the lower the supercar to the street and as you can see, gravity took over.
