Fewer people paying e-tolls

Sanral’s inability to enforce the e-toll policy in Gauteng and growing public anger and civil disobedience have resulted in monthly e-toll revenue collection of about R60m by the end of February 2015

inability to enforce e-toll policy?

SANRAL never had a snowballs hope in hell of enforcing anything.

R60m is still too much.... I await the day it's R0-00.

You have to feel for those who got eTags or those without who succumbed and paid, who stopped paying - SANRAL is coming after those people first...

The remaining people that are paying are starting to see how awesome it is to not pay. :D

What happened with Sanral taking non payers to court? I haven't paid a cent and I'm still waiting for a court order...

Whose that e-toll loving buffoon furumite who insisted this would go to court and offenders whould be prosecuted? He is always in the know about these legal things.

The name escapes me now...

Don't worry about the law, they can't arrest us all! :D

They can't even enforce regular law, people driving over red robots, speeding, getting non road worthy vehicles of the road and the list goes on. They Basically have 0 percent change to enforce this law.

I do feel for those people who deliberately went out and got themselves etagged, it's not empathy that I feel for them, it's whatever emotion goes with the expression "suckers!!!".

I'm ambivalent about people that were not etagged and still paid the alternate rate.

As the saying goes, fools and their money are soon parted.

Did I mention that I really hate the rental car companies, specifically Avis which my insurance company forced on me recently.

Now they want to start e-tolls in Cape Town don't these mother f**kers ever learn. W.ankers! :wtf:

They are learning. The Cape will have physical booms and tolls at 3x than those in Gauteng to bail them out. You can ignore a bill in the mail, but not a boom.

At least booms are "user pays", and not "owner pays" like the etoll gates.
