Hi guys,

Wanted to check how easy is it to move between fiber providers ie move from DFA to Vumatel , or vumatel to openserve.I'am aware that most isps offer month to month contracts. However not sure on the network provider ?

Thanks

Network providers are also month-to-month. The chances that both would (generally) have infrastructure in the same place is slim though.

If they do, they will treat your order as a cancellation, and a complete new install. They won't use the same cable, they won't use the same ducts, new install, from scratch.

Generally in most cases you would only have Openserve and “Other fibre network”, I would check with your ISP on what there terms are but for us, we would like to keep our customers so we allow our customers to move from one network to another. The networks see this as a brand new customer though so they will charge us Activation and installations fees, which we can absorb on your behalf if we choose.

What’s most interesting to me on this, are you doing this because your moving house or staying in the same place where 2 operators pass your home, and fed up with your fibre cable operator, but happy with your ISP?

Yes so this depends on multiple factors and if it's for a business you more than likely are awaiting wayleaves for DFA to trench and install to you. Your only other possible alternative is a provider that's in the building already, IE Openserve, Vodacom, Neotel or MTN for instance (and even if they were you would need to sign a contractual agreement with them). If they aren't then it's only Openserve that can possibly deploy ftth infrastructure (aerial) whilst you wait.
