I live in an area that doesn't have ADSL or Fibre. I spoke to a Fibre installer and he said that because my area is mainly holiday letting, it'll most likely never get fibre. We're on the MTN month-to-month for R295 per month, but the FUP is killing us, it's usually used up in a week. Even the upgraded version wouldn't help a hell of a lot. Telkom signal is also nonexistent in our area. What would be the best way to get uncapped as well as unthrottled internet?

You could try Afrihosts MTN5G plans with a 1TB FUP but if you are looking for no FUP then rather look at a local WISP instead

Dropped you a PM. Happy to look and see what’s available at your address. PM me your location so I can check for you.

When considering internet services, it's helpful to look at typical price points. Entry-level uncapped fibre services (excluding budget options like Frogfoot Air, Openserve Web Connect, and Vumatel Reach, which have more limited availability) generally range between R550.00 and R650.00 per month.

If you're comfortable with this price range, it's worth evaluating whether an LTE service at a similar cost could meet your monthly data needs, as per its Acceptable Use Policy (AUP). This comparison can be particularly useful if fibre coverage isn't yet available in your area or if you're weighing different connectivity options. Keep in mind that lower-cost wireless broadband services are typically designed for users with lower bandwidth requirements.
